A night procession photograph of a deity murti decorated with dense garlands of yellow, white and red flowers, mounted on an ornate chariot or palanquin. Brass bells hang above the figure, and a tall umbrella with red, orange and multicoloured tassels shades the scene. On the left, a shaved-headed man in orange-saffron robes and a rudraksha mala walks beside the palanquin with his hand near an offering tray; he appears to be a priest or devotee. The deity is lit brightly against a dark background.2011-10-04Night procession photo. A shaved-headed man in orange-saffron robes with a beaded necklace stands at left beside a decorated ratha/palanquin, holding a cane or staff and a flower offering. On the palanquin a deity murti in teal and blue cloth is almost covered in white and red flower garlands, with a kalasha-like gilded finial and pink tassels above.2011-10-04A night procession photograph of a decorated ratha or palanquin. A deity murti stands in the centre, draped in a teal cloth and heavily adorned with garlands of white, yellow and red flowers. Above it hang gold tassels and a large red, yellow and white canopy with fringed panels in red, maroon and yellow, lit by bright light. Silver-coloured carved panels line the base of the vehicle. No people are visible.2011-10-04March 02 20162016-03-02Night procession photograph of a metal deity murti standing in a richly decorated palanquin or ratha. The murti wears a blue-green garment and layered gold necklaces and is framed by red, yellow and white flower garlands. Hanging brass lamps and a golden canopy surround the figure, and oil lamps glow in the dark. Silhouetted devotees and a phone are visible at the lower left edge.2013-04-24A night-time outdoor photograph of a decorated deity murti in a flower-festooned shrine, glowing with warm lamplight. Marigold and white garlands drape the figure and the canopy, with hanging pink and gold tassels above. A bald man in a saffron-orange dhoti and shawl, with a beaded mala around his neck, stands at left holding a long fan-like whisk near the shrine. Three onlookers in the foreground, including an older woman in a blue sari with a mala and a girl with a braid in a teal top, face the altar. The wrapped figure's appearance is a shaved-head priest in orange; the page links him to a person but his features and cues are not distinctive enough to confirm, so the identity is left unsure.2011-10-04A night procession photograph of an ornately decorated ratha or palanquin lit by warm lamps. At the centre stands a silver-and-gold metal deity murti dressed in a blue cloth and heavy jewelled necklaces, surrounded by dense garlands of red, orange, yellow and green flowers. Hanging brass lamps and bells, and a golden canopy frame the figure, with a red-orange cloth draped at the right edge. Dark surroundings suggest an outdoor evening festival procession. No a person candidate is visibly present; the figure is a deity murti.2013-04-24March 02 20162016-03-02 +2 copiesJanuary 24 20162016-01-24A dark night photograph of a golden processional palanquin with a seated gilded figure draped in red and yellow-white flower garlands and a long gold necklace, under a striped canopy with fringe. A standing attendant in orange and gold clothing with a shawl and necklace stands at left beside a tall pole. The surrounding area is almost entirely black, with only a few faint shapes of onlookers at the edges. The figure seated on the gilded throne is a statue or murti rather than a living person, so no physical person is identified as a person.2016-03-02 +1 copiesA night procession scene dominated by an ornate silver palanquin or ratha canopy with a red and gold draped top. Inside, a deity murti is decorated with layers of marigold and rose garlands in red, yellow and green, and wears a silver crown. The platform is lit by warm lamplight against a dark background, with a silver umbrella-like frame above. Shadowy figures and a partly visible white-clad person stand at the sides, and a small lamp stand is at the left edge.2013-03-02May 03 20122012-05-03
