They wear white dhotis with gold-yellow borders and are bare-chested, with rudraksha malas and beaded necklaces; the two left figures have orange-red shawls draped over their shoulders. Behind them, seated devotees in orange and red robes watch, and a large brass lamp with a lit flame stands at right beside floral garlands. Lush green trees form the backdrop, and a round metal instrument edge appears at far left. They wear rudraksha malas and small pendants, and the man at the far left is partly cut off. Behind them, an outdoor amphitheatre with red tiered steps is filled with rows of people in white and saffron-orange clothing, with flags and lamps along the rails. The scene appears to be a ritual recitation during a festival event.2017-08-14October 03 20142014-10-03Photograph of a group of men in white dhotis with gold-bordered yellow edges, many bare-chested and wearing rudraksha malas and gold chains, standing in a row and reading from pink-lilac printed sheets while chanting. A woman in a red-and-orange sari sits in the foreground, and a camera operator with a video camera on a tripod stands at right. Behind them, tiered red steps lined with small black lamp stands rise toward an orange-robed figure, and a brass trident-topped ritual object is visible at the right edge.2017-08-14Six young men stand in a row at night outdoors, wearing white dhoti-style cloth with gold borders, bare upper bodies draped with white shawls, and dark rudraksha malas around their necks. Several have their palms pressed together in anjali, one stands with hands folded at waist, and one wears a tilak on his forehead. A red pillar and a hanging orange cloth frame the scene, with a microphone at the left edge. No single figure is identified as a person; the group appears to be devotees or sannyasi-trainees in ritual attire.2014-10-02
