A tall copper dhvajastambha flagstaff rises diagonally against a white sky beneath a metal-framed canopy, its base carved with small shrine-like niches decorated with pink and purple flower garlands and wheat stalks. At the lower left, a person in orange-red robes and a gold-bordered sash, wearing a flower garland and with long dark hair, stands on a raised platform holding a brass lamp with a flame over the base of the pillar, with incense smoke rising. Palm trees are visible at the left edge. The scene suggests a flagstaff ritual during a temple or ashram ceremony.2011-08-23Photograph of a tall copper dhvaja stambha (flagstaff) rising from an ornately carved base wrapped in marigold and white flower garlands, topped with a red-orange flag and finial, under a pale sky with palm trees at the edges. At the lower right, a man in an orange-red robe stands beside the base holding a brass oil lamp (aarti lamp) in one hand and a brass bell in the other, performing a ritual. No other clearly visible people, and the site appears to be a temple courtyard consistent with a flag-hoisting ceremony.2009-07-08A tall copper flagstaff, wrapped in twisted copper bands and topped with a carved finial, rises against a bright blue sky on a stepped red-orange base. Flower garlands of yellow and orange blooms are draped around its lower carved pedestal. A person in an orange-red robe with a rudraksha mala stands on the base, hauling the flag rope, with an orange-and-white flag near the top. A second person in a white dhoti stands at the right edge holding a brass plate. A woman in a red-orange sari with a matching orange-red flower garland stands at right, holding a brass lamp with a flame in one hand and a small handheld bell in the other, with a palm tree and bright sky behind. The pole is. The woman is the only visible physical person.2015-02-23A tall copper-clad ritual flagstaff rises from an ornate stone base wrapped with marigold garlands, topped by a small shrine-like finial with an orange cloth. A figure in orange robes stands at the base, reaching up toward the pole with a lit lamp or torch, while a person in white ritual clothes holds a brass plate or vessel beside them. Smoke drifts up near the pole under a corrugated metal canopy and a clear blue sky, with palm trees at left. This appears to be a flag-hoisting or flagstaff ritual at an outdoor ashram setting.2011-03-05A tall copper dhvaja stambha (flagstaff) rises against a pale sky, with a saffron flag at its top and garlands of marigolds and white flowers draped around its base. A standing man in a saffron-orange robe, bare-chested and with short hair, holds a brass bell in one hand and a lit oil lamp in the other beside the pillar, performing a puja.
