August 11 20092009-08-11A procession walks across a stone-paved temple courtyard past carved granite pillars and a temple gopuram-style facade. A man in an orange saffron robe with a shaved head and tilak leads the group, while a man in a red and saffron shawl carries a ceremonial silver kalasha or pot, and a shirtless man in a white dhoti carries fruit and flower offerings. Around them, men in white shirts and white dhotis wear rudraksha malas and walk in a line; a man in a white shirt on the right has a tilak on his forehead. The scene reads as a temple visit in Tamil Nadu.2009-08-11August 11 20092009-08-11A photograph of a procession moving through a temple courtyard with pillared open halls and a blue-framed doorway behind. A long-haired man in a saffron-orange shawl and a bare-chested man in a white dhoti walk side by side, the bare-chested man holding a brass plate of yellow fruit and flowers. A devotee in a red shawl and red dhoti carries a white decorated pot with a green sprig. Men in white shirts and dhotis with rudraksha malas surround them on the pavement, several barefoot. The bare-chested man and the orange-clad man carry the candidate cues of a ceremonial procession, but the identification is uncertain.2009-08-11August 11 20092009-08-11January 08 20102010-01-08December 29 20102010-12-29August 11 20092009-08-11December 29 20102010-12-29A photograph inside a dimly lit stone temple corridor with tall carved pillars. Several orange-robed attendants with garlands follow, and men in white shirts and white dhotis walk among them on the stone floor. Behind them, devotees and passersby fill the corridor.2009-01-14A procession walks down a stone temple corridor lined with carved pillars, toward a bright doorway. In the centre, a man in an orange robe and a purple shawl wears a long mala of yellow-orange flowers and a gold pendant; he has long swept-back hair and walks with hands folded. Around him, bare-chested men in white dhotis, one with a red-and-purple cloth and sacred thread, carry themselves with folded hands. Devotees in white and a woman in a light blue sari follow behind.
