A photograph of a ritual scene at night in an open courtyard. Seated at a table draped with a magenta cloth, an elderly bearded man with long grey hair wears an orange robe and extends his hand toward a large polished silver vessel with embossed decorative relief. Behind him stand two men in saffron and brown robes with rudraksha malas, one bald and one with a shaved head, and a man in white dhoti with a yellow-bordered shawl. In the foreground, a person with a dark braid in a brown garment and a beaded necklace sits at the left edge. A pair of small white baskets holding red artificial roses stands on the table. A carved statue and a wooden lattice panel appear in the background.2013-11-05A photograph of an indoor courtyard setting at night with a pink silk-draped table in the foreground holding two white woven vases of red flower arrangements. Behind the table, a large ornate silver-embossed cylindrical vessel stands on the floor. On the right, an elderly bearded man with long white hair wears a saffron-orange robe and gestures while seated in a chair, a figure who appears to be a candidate a person by his long white beard, saffron robe and seated teaching posture, though the appearance is only partly clear. Facing him, a man in a brown-gold shawl sits in a red chair with his back to the camera. Two more men stand behind the vessel: one in a saffron robe with a beaded necklace and folded hands, another in white with rudraksha beads. A wooden carved screen and gilded deity statues stand in the background.2013-11-05November 05 20132013-11-05November 05 20132013-11-05October 12 20142014-10-12Outdoor evening puja at a ritual table. A man with long swept-back dark hair, wearing a rust-red robe, a braided pinkish-red beaded mala and a heavy gold necklace, rests a hand over a silver puja tray while a second priest in rust-red robes and gold necklace holds his hands near an offering. Behind them stands a shaved-headed priest in ochre robes with a white tilak and a standing crowd. The table holds a white cloth-draped vessel, a brass plate, a silver bowl of pink flowers, silver lamp stands, an oil lamp, incense, and a floral arrangement with marigolds and white blooms. A dark pole stands at left. The lamp light gives the scene a warm glow.2013-05-27A photograph of an outdoor ritual at dusk with a crowd gathered behind. In the centre, a seated man in a red-orange shawl and orange-saffron ritual wear, with white sandalwood marks on his forehead and arms, a rudraksha mala and a gold necklace, receives a metal vessel decorated with pink and white flowers from a bare-chested priest in a red-and-white checked cloth. Behind them stands a young man in an orange cloth with a rudraksha mala, and a row of onlookers in white, yellow and saffron clothing watch. In the foreground are a woven basket of petals and a small metal bowl. Attributing the seated figure as a person cannot be made firmly from appearance alone, so the identity is marked unsure.2009-07-13July 30 20172017-07-30Indoor photo in a room with wood-panelled wall and a white table set with metal bowls, a thermos and water bottles.
