A homa fire ritual in progress on a white tiled floor. A brick fire pit with a lit flame and smoke rises from it, surrounded by yellow and red flower offerings, steel bowls and a small brass vessel. Behind it a bare-chested priest with a long white beard, rudraksha mala and a gold pendant, wearing an orange-saffron dhoti, sits holding a ladle and offering. Another man in white sits behind him near a microphone, and a person in a purple-bordered white dhoti stands at left. Garlands of red and yellow flowers decorate the background.

A homa or yagna ritual on a raised platform. Two priests in white dhoti and an older man with white hair and vertical white tilak stand over a square fire pit of stacked bricks, one pouring an offering from a steel bowl. A second younger man in saffron-orange dhoti and a bare chest with a sacred thread leans forward beside them. Brass kalasha pots wrapped in red and pink fabric, coconuts, mango leaves, white jasmine garlands and yellow and red marigolds, small cones of grain and brass bowls of offerings fill the table. Behind them, devotees in white sit on red mats in a bright hall, and a man in white dhoti with a microphone sits at right.

A photograph of a homa or fire ritual in a temple-like hall. A priest with white sacred ash markings on his forehead and arms, wearing spectacles, a rudraksha mala and a gold pendant, stands in a yellow dhoti with a patterned border and a pink shawl, holding a silver vessel over a brick fire pit with lit flames. Behind him, a figure in white dhoti sits bent over, and two men in white sit near microphones. A deity murti decorated with multicoloured flower garlands sits beside a gold and red ornate backdrop. Silver lamp stands, brass bowls and a yellow stone slab with flowers are in the foreground.

Photograph of a homa fire ritual in a hall with marigold garlands and a red floor. Four men in white dhotis with gold borders officiate around a brick fire pit; the man at right, bare-chested with a red cloth, feeds the flames with a stick while another pours from a vessel. A man in a maroon turban and garland stands center holding a conch, and a purple-and-gold ceremonial umbrella stands behind. Behind them, a row of people in saffron and orange robes sits. A seated man at left wears a shawl and rudraksha-style beads. Offerings of coconuts, bananas and flower-decorated platters lie at right, with brass vessels on the floor.

A homa fire ceremony at a heavy wooden door with brass studs in a brick-walled room. A bare-chested priest in white dhoti with a yellow-and-red cloth around his waist and a yellow head cloth pours liquid from a brass vessel near the door. Another priest in a pink-and-white dhoti holds a brass bowl over a brick fire altar stacked with yellow bricks, where a flame burns amid marigold garlands, fruit, flowers and offerings. A man in a yellow dhoti kneels at the altar. On the right, two men in orange and white stand with folded hands, one wearing glasses and a rudraksha-style gold necklace. Smoke rises from the fire pit.
