Several young boys in red monastic-style robes sit on red stone steps beside black Shivalingam stone sculptures, with white cloths draped over more steps behind them. The boys wear rudraksha malas and tilaka and white forehead markings, and the boy at right holds a small red-and-gold item. Their gazes are directed forward and upward. Most men wear white dhotis and sit bare-chested with rudraksha malas, while many others wear saffron-orange cloths. Brass vessels, bells and small oil lamps sit on the steps, and several people hold conch shells or pooja items. Red flags rise along the stairway railing, and a stage screen with a logo stands at the upper left. The setting suggests a collective puja or abhishekam of the lingas.2017-08-14A photograph of many black stone Shiva lingams set on tiered red stone steps. Numerous saffron-robed young monks sit beside the lingams, many holding long wooden implements and small metal pots, apparently performing abhishekam-style ritual offerings.
