A man in a white shirt and a man in a blue shirt raise the pink garland over his head while a young boy in a red striped shirt presses his palms together in reverence. Another orange-clad attendant stands at the right edge. Behind them are arched white pillars and a deity murti in an alcove, with a golden altar and a striped cloth visible at right. The scene suggests a garlanding honour during a visit, with several devotees crowding around. The man receiving the garland has long dark hair and a gold bangle on his wrist; his appearance is not sufficiently distinctive to confirm an identity, so he is described by role.2012-06-03 +1 copiesFebruary 08 20122012-02-08December 10 20112011-12-10A photograph in a temple interior with a carved stone pillar and painted ceiling. In the centre, a person in an orange-saffron robe has a long garland of yellow and magenta flowers placed around the neck, while another person with a pale wrap and wristwatch adjusts it from behind. On the right, a bearded man with a red and white rudraksha-style mala and a green garment holds the garland, and to the left several shaven-headed men in orange robes stand nearby. A brass plate with flower petals and offerings sits at the bottom edge.2011-12-21A photograph of a ceremonial moment in a hall with a draped white and red canopy. A man in white kurta and dark-rimmed glasses holds a folded white paper over the head of a seated, bare-chested man wearing a saffron-red shawl, a long gold bead necklace and a white jasmine garland with orange flowers. The seated man wears a gold armlet and gold ornaments and bows his head. A man in dark blue shirt on the left presses his palms together in anjali. Behind them stand white-clad attendants and saffron-robed sannyasis, and a projection screen shows deity imagery. Two physical people appear clearly in the foreground, with several others behind.2013-04-06 +1 copiesFebruary 08 20122012-02-08Photo inside a temple hall with stone pillars. A bald man with a bare upper body in the foreground pours or presses a white substance onto the head of a seated, shaven-headed figure in saffron robes, who wears a rudraksha mala and a large garland of white flowers with red blossoms. A man in white dhoti and shawl with gold border and rudraksha beads stands at right. Another man in orange and a rudraksha mala stands behind, with a tilak and red bindi, and a further standing man in orange and gold garlands is at left. Some devotees are visible behind, and a rudraksha garland drapes the saffron-clad figure. The scene appears to be an abhishekam or anointing ritual with garlands, and the saffron-robed figure may be a person based on saffron clothing and rudraksha ornaments.2012-06-05April 14 20182018-04-14
