A man with long dark hair, wearing an orange-saffron garment and a white flower garland, sits on an ornate gold and red throne at the centre. Around him, priests in white dhotis and shawls sit on the floor, some with yellow sashes, while women in white and yellow saris sit before brass plates of fruit, flowers and offerings. A deity murti decorated with garlands stands behind the throne, with orange curtains and red and white striped pillars framing the hall. Oil lamps and incense sticks are placed on the mats. A red carpet runs across the foreground, and a banner sign hangs on the left wall. Several seated devotees in saris and orange shawls face the scene.2011-08-10Indoor ritual scene in a hall with a red-and-white striped canopy background and a metal-framed stage area. A seated figure on an ornate gold throne wears a rust-orange turban, orange-red robes and a large gold pendant necklace, with bare feet, and is receiving service from a woman in a rust-coloured sari who holds a microphone toward him. Bare-chested men in white dhotis with yellow and red sashes stand holding ritual items, and white-clad women kneel on a striped mat in front of them with palms pressed together. Behind them are rows of small white lit lamps, a deity murti decorated with garlands on the right, and brass puja vessels and plates in the foreground. Attendees are clustered on the mat.2015-09-17 +1 copiesIndoor ritual hall with an orange-painted wall, corrugated roof and hanging decorative tassels in orange, blue and yellow. The throne figure's appearance does not clearly match the a person candidate cues, so role is given without identification.2011-11-06September 15 20152015-09-15A photograph of a seated community meal in a temple hall. Many devotees in saffron and orange robes sit cross-legged on long multicoloured striped mats, each with a steel thali plate and small steel tumbler. A bald man in a maroon-and-orange dhoti and shawl, with a beaded necklace, bends forward to serve food from a vessel toward the row. Several seated men wear orange headwear and saffron clothing, and a few wear white. Behind them stand ornate golden lamps and a decorated deity shrine with garlands. A rounded lamp hangs near a wall, and a fan and a monitor appear at the right edge. The dark drapery and ornamented altar suggest a sacred hall, consistent with an annadan-style meal.2015-09-12 +1 copiesA large ceremonial hall during a Maheshwara Puja, with rows of shaved-headed monastic disciples in saffron and orange dhotis and bare upper bodies seated on striped mats, many with sacred ash markings and rudraksha malas.
