October 06 20162016-10-06A photograph of a group walking on a dirt path through dry scrub and green trees on a clear day. In the foreground, a man with long dark hair wears an orange-saffron wrap, a rudraksha mala, and holds a wooden walking staff. Beside him stands a taller man in an orange wrap with red borders and a dark bead mala with a pendant, his hands clasped at his waist. Behind them, several people in white clothes with orange shawls follow along the trail, with one standing further back among the foliage. Many of the pictured people look upward.2008-01-03June 23 20142014-06-23 +2 copiesAugust 09 20152015-08-09 +1 copiesA seated man in an orange-red turban and saffron robes with a gold-embellished border sits on an ornate gold throne, wearing layered beaded necklaces and a large gold pendant. He reaches forward with his right hand, smiling, to accept a small object from a kneeling man in a white shirt who leans in with cupped hands. Beside the throne a bald man with vertical orange tilak on his forehead, wearing glasses and orange robes with a gold necklace, sits attentively. Behind them stand gold lamps, a gold pillar and a red backdrop; a person in white with a red-beaded mala is partly visible at the right edge.2015-08-07 +1 copiesA seated man on a gold-and-red throne wears an orange-red turban, a saffron robe and a long garland of orange, white and green flowers over red beads. He receives a small printed card from a kneeling woman in a white sari with a gold border, who holds her palms out to him. Behind them, a second person in orange-red robes with rudraksha beads holds similar cards, a golden lion-shaped figure sits by the throne, and a microphone rests on a red cloth at night. Swamiji (probable): the seated man has a turban, saffron robe, floral garland and rudraksha beads, and the page names Swamiji at this event.2015-08-09A photograph of a seated figure in an orange-red turban, orange and white garland of flowers and beads, and saffron clothing, on a red tiger-striped cushion before a golden carved throne with lion heads. A woman in a white sari with a red-orange rudraksha garland and gold bangles stands at right, extending her hands to receive a small paper card. A brass tray with more cards sits nearby. Behind them is a seated crowd in white and orange clothing, with banana leaves and a striped cloth hanging above. Whether the seated figure is a person is uncertain, as the appearance cues are not sufficiently distinctive.2015-08-09A photo of a ritual scene. In the foreground, a woman in an orange sari with a white jasmine garland bows her head low over a silver tray of fruit, flowers and coconut-like offerings held in her hands, close to a microphone on a stand. Seated beside her, a man in orange robes with a gold necklace, glasses and a red tilak on his forehead holds a tray of fruit and offerings with one hand. Behind them, seated devotees in white and yellow clothing sit with hands folded, and an orange canopy is visible at right. The setting appears to be an outdoor satsang or puja gathering.2009-12-26August 17 20142014-08-17Outdoor ritual photograph beneath tall trees. In the foreground, several shaved-headed men in saffron-red robes with gold borders stand together; a central man holds a silver plate and a lit flame, and wears a white-and-red flower garland and gold bangles. Beside them stands a large dark stone deity murti with a crown-like headdress, and gilded carved pillars frame the right side. A cameraman in white clothing films from a raised tripod platform in the background. The scene suggests an aarti or puja at a shrine. No person is identified as a person on appearance alone.2015-02-05A photograph of a formal welcome on a red-carpeted stage. A figure seated on an ornate gold-carved throne with red cushions wears a rust-orange turban, orange robe, a long rudraksha-style necklace and a pink-and-white flower garland; a golden trident stands beside the throne. A man in a brown kurta kneels before him with hands joined, wearing a cream cap and an orange shawl, while a standing man in a white shirt and orange shawl bows nearby. Swamiji (probable) is the seated figure, based on the turban, long swept-back hair, ornate gold throne and orange ceremonial garments; the page identifies this as a Kumbh Mela VIP welcome. Behind them a woman in a sari and a shaved-head man in orange stand near a red backdrop, with a microphone on a stand.2016-04-26October 22 20152015-10-22 +1 copies
