A man in a white kurta with a yellow shawl pours liquid over a dark black stone lingam set in a round black yoni-peetha basin, as yellow liquid flows across the base. Behind him stands a large golden deity murti with multiple arms, and a figure in orange robes is seated nearby. Carved wooden stools, a red-and-gold railing and orange drapery frame the temple setting, with white-dhoti-clad figures visible at the edges. This appears to be a lingam abhishekam ritual at a temple shrine.2010-07-05A photograph of an abhishekam ritual. A small brass kalasha-shaped vessel sits on a wooden stand in front. Behind the linga, a large golden deity murti is draped in orange cloth and garlanded with yellow and multicoloured flower garlands. At the left edge, a bearded older man in white robes wears a yellow shawl and a rudraksha mala, standing at the edge of the frame; he is not clearly distinguishable as the a person, so identity is unsure. Orange cloth and gold carved pillars frame the scene, and a small deity figure with a garland appears at the right edge. The setting suggests abhishekam at a temple shrine.2010-02-12A close photograph of an abhishekam being performed on a tall black Shiva lingam, which is being poured over with thick golden-yellow liquid. A hand holding a silver vessel with a decorated rim pours the liquid from above. The hand bears white vibhuti markings and beaded bracelets. Behind the lingam, a gilded throne or peetha with ornate golden carvings is visible, and a figure in saffron-orange robes sits beside it. Another person in white dhoti with a red-bordered cloth and yellow sash stands on the right near a wooden side table. Gold-plated metal decorations and a red pillar frame the scene.2011-09-19January 17 20102010-01-17January 17 20102010-01-17A photograph of a ritual abhishekam at a temple shrine. A man with a tall dark turban and a bare shoulder wears a rust-brown dhoti-style wrap with gold borders and a rudraksha-style mala, pouring golden liquid from a copper vessel over a dark green stone linga set in a basin. Another man in a brown garment assists beside him, and a figure in orange cloth stands at left. On the right, a deity murti is adorned with a multicoloured garland of yellow, orange, green and purple flowers and gold ornaments, wearing a white and red garment. The liquid flows down over the stone, and the scene is lit warmly against dark surroundings.2016-03-07Night-time temple abhishekam at a large black stone Shivalingam on a yoni-peetha base. A man in orange robes with an orange shawl draped over his head pours yellow liquid from a silver plate over the lingam, which streams down over the base. He wears a long gold-beaded necklace and white ash markings on his forehead and arms. Behind him a second orange-robed priest stands with hands folded in reverence, and a third figure in orange with a long beard stands at the left edge.
