A photograph through a sliding glass window of a shrine room. A man in orange dhoti and orange shawl, with a bare upper body, holds a white fly-whisk (chamara) and stands beside a wooden bed draped in white and red cloth. On the bed a framed portrait shows a figure in orange robes wearing a rudraksha mala, seated before a tree backdrop. A second man in white dhoti and shirt holds a dark fan or whisk at the right. Brass oil lamp and small brass vessels sit on a low wooden stand in front. Red drapery, a silver-coloured deity image and a potted plant are visible. The seated figure is a printed portrait, not a physical person.2007-01-01Inside a room with a red-maroon wall, a man in an orange saffron dhoti-style garment with a shawl stands at left, lighting or tending a small flame near a low wooden bed draped with a white sheet and round silver-and-orange bolster cushions. On the bed sits a framed photograph of a long-haired man in orange robes and a white beaded mala, seated before a tree with aerial roots and raising one hand in blessing. A brass plate with a silver cup and bananas sits on a small wooden stool below. On the throne sits a framed-style seated figure in saffron-orange robes with a beaded necklace, in front of a peacock-feather backdrop and a gold canopy. Brass lamps stand on red side tables, with a flower arrangement, a brass kalasha, and offering trays on the platform. Smoke rises from the lamp. A second person in orange stands beside her, and a man in white walks in the doorway. A large portrait of a smiling man hangs on the wall behind, with Tamil text beneath it. White floor kolam designs lead up the steps. The figure on the throne is a depiction, not a verified identity; the seated figure's appearance is consistent with a candidate but uncertain.2009-02-05A photograph taken through a glass door of a small shrine room with a red draped backdrop and a brass rod canopy.
