November 12 20212021-11-12A procession of men in traditional Hindu ascetic dress walks outdoors beneath a striped canopy with a trident finial. Several men carry tall golden staffs topped with finials; the central figure, in an orange and red robe and garlands, holds a decorated bundle before a large painted deity murti. The men wear orange, red, and white garments, rudraksha and gold necklaces, and white body markings; several wear red or white turbans. One figure at right stands with hands folded in namaste. At centre, a man with long dark hair wears an orange turban, a red-orange cloth, a dense garland of red and green flowers, gold necklaces and gold bangles, and smiles while walking under a large multicolour ceremonial umbrella with tassels and bird emblems held on a tall pole. Around him, saffron-robed followers in orange dhotis and shawls carry gold trident staffs and orange flags. A man on the right wears white dhoti and shawl with a gold-chain necklace and holds an orange-and-blue umbrella. Roadside tents and utility poles stand in the background, with a crowd behind.2011-12-20November 12 20212021-11-12Outdoor procession on a paved path with a blue-edged mat runner. A central man in a rust-red sleeveless tunic and draped dhoti walks barefoot with eyes closed, wearing long dark braided hair, a white vertical tilak on his forehead, a gold necklace and a long rudraksha mala across his chest. Behind him a young attendant in an orange-saffron dhoti and leopard-print headwrap and shawl holds a tall gold pole supporting a large multicoloured canopy with red and orange tassels. Several other attendants in orange robes, rudraksha malas and white body markings walk alongside, and trees and reddish buildings stand in the background.2018-01-01December 22 20182018-12-22January 01 20082008-01-01Night procession scene at a temple with ornate gold and wooden architecture behind. A large portrait of a smiling bearded figure in a peach-orange turban, garlanded with yellow and red flower garlands, is held up centrally, shown as a printed or framed picture rather than a living person. Around it, several saffron-clad men stand: one bare-chested in orange cloth with a red headband and long swept-back hair holds a coconut and green leaves toward the portrait; a man in an orange turban and rudraksha malas holds a silver staff; another bare-chested man holds a golden trishul; a man in orange with glasses holds a silver staff with a trident-topped finial. A red-and-gold canopy with tassels overhead suggests a ceremonial procession.2021-06-20
