A festival procession under a open-sided covered pavilion with hanging decorative lamps and banners. Drummers in saffron-orange dhotis and red sashes walk at left, playing round white drums. Behind them a man in a grey shirt and dhoti, and several people in white and orange, carry or walk beside large decorative umbrellas with fringed tassels in orange, red and green. Centre foreground, a standing figure in saffron-orange robes and a red turban wears a long garland of white and pink flowers and a rudraksha-style garland; this figure is a life-size printed or cut-out image carried upright on a red carpet runner, not a physical person. Other attendees in orange and white garments follow along the red-carpeted path.2016-08-25A procession under a covered tent walks along a red carpet. In the centre-left, a man in an orange robe and orange-red turban, with a garland of white and pink flowers around his neck, smiles and raises a hand in greeting; an attendant in orange walks beside him. Several figures in orange and saffron robes carry or walk alongside, including a woman in orange holding a brass tray. Behind them, a drummer in orange beats a large drum, and bare-chested young men in white dhotis wearing rudraksha malas follow. Colourful umbrellas in red, blue and patterned gold shade the group, and banners and orange-and-white flags hang from the tent frame, with green trees behind. The orange-robed man wearing a turban and garland is an appearance-based candidate, but the cues are not sufficiently distinctive for confirmation.2017-01-01A procession on a paved courtyard under a open-sided roof. Young men in saffron-orange dhotis and rudraksha malas play drums on the left, and a woman in an orange sari walks at the right. Behind them, a large painted cutout or portrait of a smiling bearded man in an orange garment, a red turban and a heavy garland is carried forward, and a red carpet runs down the centre. Multicoloured ceremonial umbrellas with tasselled fringes are held overhead, and a decorated brass-like pot with a floral garland and flowers is carried at right. Men in white dhotis walk in the background.2016-08-25 +1 copiesDecember 22 20182018-12-22 +2 copiesAugust 20 20142014-08-20January 11 20162016-01-11A procession in an open-sided pavilion with a tin roof and palm trees behind. Several devotees in saffron-orange dhotis and some in white dhotis carry decorated ceremonial umbrellas in orange, red, purple and teal with silver sequins, and a large ornate trident-tipped staff. A devotee in orange holds a brass tray of lamps, while others in orange walk ahead. A large printed portrait of a bearded-looking figure with a pink turban and garlands is carried on a poster board. A small child in a white outfit stands at the right, and a drum is visible at the edge.2017-01-12A procession moves across a open-sided pavilion under a corrugated roof, with palm trees visible beyond. Several devotees in orange and saffron dhotis and shawls walk under decorated umbrellas in red, orange, purple and blue, some with embroidered flower and bird motifs. A bare-chested young man in an orange dhoti carries a brass tray with lamps and offerings. Another orange-clad person holds a long trident-topped staff, and a man in a white kurta and dhoti holds an umbrella at left. Behind them a large painted image of a seated figure with a red-and-pink turban and garlands is carried on a platform, amid a group of ascetics with rudraksha malas. The scene reads as a Shaivite procession for Arudhra Darshan.2017-01-12August 15 20172017-08-15 +2 copiesA procession of saffron-clad devotees moves down a stone-stepped amphitheatre lined with black Shivalingam-shaped pillars. In the foreground, a figure in an orange dhoti and bare chest carries a brass tray holding a vase of yellow flowers, with a bead necklace and sacred ash on the forehead. Beside him, a man in a red turban, flower garlands and rudraksha beads walks in a meditative pose, holding a hand in a blessing gesture, while another attendant holds a large fringed yellow parasol overhead. Behind them, a shirtless boy beats a drum, and further figures in orange and red follow along the steps.2017-01-02January 12 20172017-01-12January 04 20172017-01-04
