A shaved-headed man seen from behind, wearing an orange-saffron cloth draped over his shoulder with a yellow border and a rudraksha mala around his neck, raises a silver multi-wick oil lamp with flames toward a temple shrine. Behind him, a doorway opens onto a gilded deity murti and a golden throne-like shrine. Painted pillars in blue, pink and green frame the hall, with two standing figures in red and green flanking the entrance, and small brass lamps stand on the floor. The scene reads as an aarti in progress.

A photograph of a temple priest seen from behind, shaved-headed, wearing an orange-saffron shawl over bare shoulders and a rudraksha bracelet on the raised right wrist, holding a silver ceremonial lamp with branching flame-shaped arms and a dish, lifting it toward a golden shrine. Behind the shrine is a gilded canopy framing a framed image, flanked by two painted standing deity figures with multiple arms, crowns and red-and-green garments in a blue temple doorway. The setting suggests an aarti or puja at a temple sanctum, with a soft-focused background of other people at the edge of the frame.
