Rows of seated figures in white clothing sit on red-tiered steps beside a still water pool, with rows of grey kalasha-style pots arranged across the upper tiers. Potted green plants and red flowers stand along the top edge. Bare ground, scattered white posts, a fenced boundary and a few trees and a white house fill the background. The seated figures appear to be devotees in white ritual dress, arranged in ordered lines for a ceremony; no individual is clearly identifiable as a person, so no identity is asserted.2009-12-23December 23 20092009-12-23A photograph of a line of about twenty men in white dhotis and white kurtas with yellow sashes standing on wide red-and-grey stone steps beside a large black shivalinga on a square plinth with red and white banding.
