A seated pūjā scene indoors in a room with green walls, a dark wooden door and a framed black-and-white portrait labelled "Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam" on the wall. A long-haired man in saffron-orange robes with a gold necklace and rudraksha-style beads sits with palms pressed together on an orange mat, his feet resting in a brass plate. Probable Swamiji by appearance cues: long swept-back hair, saffron clothing and ornate gold necklace, seated as the central figure. Around him, saffron-clad disciples sit with folded hands, a man in white dhoti and shirt and gold jewellery kneels, and women in golden and green saris sit or stand nearby. In front, a tray holds bananas, rice, lentils, a brass kalasha-style vessel, coconut, oil lamps and a yellow cake with flowers, all set on a white cloth.2008-10-15October 15 20082008-10-15A seated figure in orange saffron robes with long swept-back dark hair and a gold necklace sits in a wooden armchair with hands pressed in anjali, while a man in white dhoti and shirt pours water from a small silver vessel over his feet in a copper tray during a padapuja ritual. A woman in a gold sari kneels beside him and other women in saffron, yellow, green and blue saris sit on the floor watching. A silver puja set with flowers, small brass pots and cups sits on a white cloth in front, and a red mat lies under the tray. Wooden cabinets and a framed mirror line the room.2008-10-15A photograph of a pada pooja in a domestic room with white walls and a hanging green paper-leaf decoration. A man in long saffron-orange robes with a red flower garland, sandalwood-coloured forehead marks and long dark hair sits with palms pressed together on an ornate gold-and-red throne, his bare feet resting on a gold-trimmed platform. Seated devotees in white shirts, saffron shawls and a woman in a sari with a red bindi and bangles face him with folded hands. Brass plates holding flowers, yellow turmeric powder, fruit and lamps are set on the floor, and a basket of apples sits on a side table. A younger man in orange robes bends forward at the side, and a small deity figure with garlands stands at the left edge.2010-01-09July 25 20092009-07-25December 15 20092009-12-15August 08 20092009-08-08A photograph of a pada puja in a hall. A man in an orange robe with a long dark rudraksha mala sits on an ornate gold-and-red throne with eyes closed and hands resting on his lap. Surrounding devotees in white ritual clothes sit on the floor with palms pressed together in prayer, including a bald priest in white with a gold necklace and a woman in a red sari. Silver trays hold pink flowers, red fruit and offering bowls at the foot of the throne. A shaved-headed man in front and a woman in red at the right are seated in devotion, and a microphone stands at the left. The scene is a pada puja, a devotional foot-worship ceremony.2010-09-16A seated figure in an orange robe with long dark hair and a red floral garland sits barefoot on an ornate gold-and-red throne, hands pressed together in namaste. In front of the throne, devotees sit on the floor behind silver plates holding oil lamps, flowers and fruit, and a brass platter stands on a cloth. Several people in white clothes and yellow shawls, some wearing ID lanyards, kneel and fold their hands in prayer; a woman in a yellow-and-maroon sari also sits with palms joined. In the background a painting of a saffron-robed figure hangs above a draped curtain with green leaf garlands, and a small deity murti sits on a side table. A tray of apples and sweets rests on a red-lacquered stand to the right. The seated figure with long hair and orange robe is a probable candidate for Swamiji, based on his long hair, orange clothing and garland, and a seat of honour.2010-01-09A seated figure in saffron-orange robes with a white flower garland sits with palms pressed together in namaste on an ornate gold-and-red throne in a bare white-walled room. Around him, several women in white saris with gold borders sit on a white cloth with palms joined or heads bowed in reverence. A man in an orange robe kneels in front, hands folded, and two young men in white with yellow shawls sit at right, also in namaste. Trays of fruit, flowers, sweets and coconuts are set out on the floor in front of the throne. The scene resembles a devotional reception or puja.
