A photograph inside a plain white-walled hall showing a tiered arrangement of brass kalasha pots, each covered with mango leaves and a coconut, stacked on a white-draped table before a black shivalinga. Behind them a deity murti is framed by a large red, green and white garland arch. A man in a saffron-orange cloth and long hair stands at the centre, holding up an object over the pots as if performing an offering or abhishekam. To the left, several men in saffron and white robes stand with palms joined in prayer, one holding a plate of offerings. The scene suggests a ritual of energized water being blessed before distribution to devotees.2008-01-03January 03 20082008-01-03January 03 20082008-01-03January 03 20082008-01-03A photograph of a temple ritual at an outdoor shrine.
