Several people sit cross-legged on a bare concrete floor under a open shelter with wooden posts, eating a meal from steel plates. A man in the centre wears a white dhoti and a blue-and-white checked cloth over his shoulder, holding food in his right hand and gesturing as he talks. Beside him, a man in an off-white shirt and white dhoti eats from a plate. On the left, a man in a rust-brown patterned shirt and orange-yellow dhoti with a red wrist thread eats, and a girl in a red-and-orange dress sits with her hands together. A woman in white sits behind them, and other people, including a boy in a bright blue shirt, sit further back. The scene looks like a communal meal, with plates of rice and curry on the floor.

A photograph of men seated on a concrete step eating rice from stainless steel plates, in front of an orange-painted wall with a red metal pillar at right. In the foreground, a young man in a white and magenta striped polo shirt with a green and white checked cloth draped over his shoulders eats with his right hand while looking down. Beside him, an older man with a bald head, grey moustache and a pink collared shirt with a pen in the pocket eats from his plate with his fingers. Other people sit behind them in white clothes, partly visible. The scene resembles an annadan meal service. No one in the image is clearly identifiable as a person.
