Low-angle photograph of a tall, ornately carved wooden dhwajasthambha flagstaff rising against a blue sky with scattered white clouds. Its lower base is carved with figures and foliage, and its shaft is wrapped in bands of metal. At the top, a red and white cloth flag hangs from a pulley. Orange ropes run down the pole, and three people in orange-red robes stand at the right, pulling the ropes to raise the flag. Palm trees frame the scene and a partial roof edge crosses the upper left corner.

The pole stands on an ornate stone pedestal carved with figures and flowers scattered at its base. A monk in orange-saffron robes and a beaded mala stands at the pedestal, reaching up toward the pole, apparently guiding the flag's rope during a flag-hoisting ritual. A second orange-robed figure is partly visible behind the base. Under a large corrugated metal roof, strings of orange triangular pennants hang overhead, and palm trees line the background. Several devotees in white and orange clothing sit at the right edge. A red-orange temple building and a stone-carved deity figure appear at left and lower right.2010-10-18 +1 copiesFebruary 23 20152015-02-23October 18 20102010-10-18 +1 copiesPhotograph of a tall copper flagstaff with a spiral-banded shaft rising against a pale blue sky, topped with a small red-and-gold figure and a red flag.
