October 13 20132013-10-13A night-time homa at a temple courtyard with a square fire pit where flames rise. Behind the pit a seated woman in red-orange robes, rudraksha mala and garlands sits on an ornate silver-framed seat, with a large gathering of devotees in red and saffron clothes, many with rudraksha malas and white forehead markings, kneeling and standing around the fire. Some are bald priests in saffron-orange shawls seated at the front. A man in a white shirt holds a camera at the back, and smoke fills the air.2013-03-18Night photograph of a homa fire ritual at an outdoor ashram courtyard. A large square fire pit blazes in the foreground, with a bright fire and offerings of wood and ghee. Behind it, a seated figure on a raised wooden seat with a leopard-print cushion wears orange robes, a long rudraksha mala and a gold ceremonial necklace; the figure's appearance matches the page's a person claim only partially, so the identity is uncertain. Around the fire, many women in saffron and orange saris with rudraksha malas sit and stand, some holding brass vessels, flowers and ritual items, and several raise their hands in prayer. Two shaved-headed men in orange robes sit to the left beside brass pots and lamps. Strings of coloured fairy lights decorate the red wall, and a few men in white stand in the background.2013-03-10October 10 20162016-10-10October 29 20162016-10-29October 03 20142014-10-03Night ritual homa at an outdoor temple courtyard. A large fire blazes at the centre while many saffron-robed sannyasis and female devotees in orange and gold-bordered saris sit in rows around it. A man in the foreground stands at the fire, wearing an orange turban and orange robe with a large flower garland, holding an object in his hand; he is a priest or sannyasi performing the rite, with the appearance of a person but identity uncertain from visible cues alone. Behind them, a decorated deity murti is set in a gold arch with pink drapery, and a golden umbrella stands at right. Many people in white clothes watch from the background under string lights.2013-07-22October 29 20162016-10-29October 13 20132013-10-13October 13 20132013-10-13September 26 20092009-09-26October 10 20162016-10-10
