A photograph of a seated figure on a flower-decorated throne at an indoor event, draped in garlands of white and orange flowers. The seated man wears a saffron-orange robe, a gold-toned necklace and a long flowing hairstyle, and smiles toward a woman in white who kneels before him with her head bowed. Around them are shaved-headed devotees in orange robes, some holding long bamboo poles with orange flags, and a cameraman with a video camera at the left edge. Several seated people in the foreground are viewed from behind. Appearance-based cues on the throned figure, including long hair, saffron robes and ornate gold necklace, give a probable Swamiji (probable) identification with the role of the seated guru receiving devotion.2006-07-11July 11 20062006-07-11A seated long-haired figure in saffron-orange robes and a long yellow-beaded garland sits on an ornate gold throne decorated with white flowers, red hibiscus and garlands, with a carved lion-like figure at the base. A grey-bearded man in an orange robe and white dhoti stands behind holding a silver tray. A man in white kneels at the right in front of the throne, bowing with head lowered. Other men in white kurtas and orange robes stand in the background, one holding a video camera. Floral garlands and a brass pot appear near the throne. Swamiji (probable): the seated figure wears saffron robes, a long yellow-beaded garland and has long hair, with a gold throne and floral decoration; this is an appearance-based candidate.2006-07-11July 11 20062006-07-11A seated man with long dark hair and an orange robe smiles broadly on a gold ornate throne with red cushion, wearing a long yellow-orange garland of beads and white flower garlands. Beside him a bearded man in orange robe kneels on a red mat, hands together in reverence, while a man in white shirt holds a silver vessel and an orange-robed attendant stands behind. A videographer with camera on tripod films the scene, and a young woman in white sits at right. A golden lion-like figure and flowers lie at the throne's base. Strong candidate for the Swamiji (probable) on the throne, shown with long swept-back hair and orange robe, the throne and garlands marking him as the honoured figure; appearance is clear enough to label probable.2006-07-11July 11 20062006-07-11December 24 20092009-12-24February 07 20102010-02-07A photograph of a long-haired man in saffron-orange robes and a gold necklace seated smiling on an ornate gold-framed throne with a red cushioned back, decorated with flower garlands. A red tilak is on his forehead and he wears a long rudraksha-style gold chain. In front, a man in white with a red shawl rests a hand on the shoulder of a child in blue, and another person in a yellow garment bends forward near the bottom. A man in orange and white stands at right holding a steel cup, and a saffron flag pole rises beside the throne. Appearance-based candidate: a person, seated on the throne receiving devotees. Flower garlands in red, yellow and white frame the throne.2006-07-11A ceremonial event in a hall decorated with white and orange flower garlands framing a throne. A long-haired man in saffron-orange robes and a gold necklace sits on the throne, smiling and extending his hands toward an older bearded man in a white kurta who kneels before him and offers something in his palms. Behind the throne, saffron-clad attendants stand near tall bamboo poles with orange pennants. A camera operator in orange clothing films the scene at left, and seated devotees fill the lower foreground. The seated man shows distinctive long hair and saffron robes with gold ornament, consistent with the page's reference to Swamiji (probable) as the figure on the throne.2006-07-11A seated long-haired figure in orange robes and a yellow bead garland sits on a gold and red throne, smiling and extending cupped hands toward a young boy in a grey-purple shirt and beaded necklace who bends forward. Behind the throne is a flower-decorated backdrop. A man in orange robes stands at right operating a Panasonic video camera on a tripod, and another orange-robed man stands behind the throne. Appearance-based label: a person for the seated figure, based on long swept hair, orange robes and yellow garland.2006-07-11A seated man in saffron-orange robes and a rudraksha mala sits on an ornate gold throne with carved scrollwork and a red cushion, smiling as a man in a white shirt and white dhoti drapes him with a long garland of white, pink and red flowers. On the left, two men in white clothes stand near a stack of books and a silver tray holding petals; one wears a rudraksha mala. On the right, a man in orange robes with a wrap stands with hands joined in greeting. The setting is a plain cream-walled room. The seated figure has long swept-back hair and distinctive saffron robes, rudraksha and a garland, consistent with the Swamiji (probable) candidate, presented as being honoured on a throne.2009-08-09
