October 06 20132013-10-06A photograph of a man in saffron-orange robes and an orange turban performing a fire ritual at night against a black background. He wears a microphone headset, a red tilak mark on his forehead, long rudraksha malas around his neck, and bangles on his wrist. He holds a thin stick over a silver bowl with a burning flame, while smoke rises to the left. A green leaf and a coconut sit near the bowl, and yellow flowers appear at the right edge. A man in such clothing and presentation is described as a sannyasi performing a homa, with an appearance-based a person candidate present but identity uncertain.2013-10-06October 06 20132013-10-06October 06 20132013-10-06October 06 20132013-10-06October 06 20132013-10-06A man in a red-orange turban and matching draped cloth performs an evening ritual beside a fire. He wears a heavy gold bead necklace, rudraksha-style beads on the upper arm, gold earrings and a red tilak on his forehead, while holding a small brass oil lamp with a lit wick in one hand and a metal vessel in the other. Bright flames rise from a brass bowl in the foreground, consistent with a homa or puja fire, and a partly visible figure in orange sits at the left edge against a dark background. The man appears to be a priest performing the rite rather than a depicted or distinctively identified figure.2014-01-05A man in a red-and-gold turban and red-orange dhoti with gold borders stands bent forward over a large ornate silver bowl, dipping a long-handled silver ladle into it. He wears a long multi-strand rudraksha mala around his neck and has white markings on his arms and chest. A smoky haze fills the air, and a hand is raised at the right edge of the frame. Another person in orange sits in the lower right. Appearance-based cues for a person are a turban, saffron-toned clothing and rudraksha mala, but the face is not clearly visible, so identity is uncertain. The scene suggests a ritual offering with a ladle and bowl.2014-09-14October 06 20132013-10-06A man in a saffron-orange turban and saffron-orange draped robe sits at a low altar beside an open flame. He wears clear-framed glasses, a long mala of dark and gold beads with a gold pendant, and a bracelet of dark beads. Ash markings are on his forehead and upper arm. He holds a small ladle over the fire, with a brass vessel to the left and a printed booklet at right. A dark background with a red pillar and a hanging yellow-and-teal textile. Appearance suggests a person (saffron turban, ornate gold-and-bead mala, ceremonial fire), but the identification is uncertain, so this is a priest or sannyasi performing a fire ritual.2015-11-18A man in orange saffron robes and a red-and-gold turban sits before a fire pit, stirring offerings with a long ladle from a copper vessel. He wears layered rudraksha malas and a large ornate gold-toned necklace, with a red tilak on his forehead. Flames rise from the fire at the lower centre, and small brass vessels sit at the bottom edge. The background shows a blurred green garden and building.2014-01-11March 31 20132013-03-31
