Many have white forehead markings and rudraksha malas around their necks, and they sit before brass and silver plates, small oil lamps, kalasha-style vessels and bells. Some hold their hands together in prayer while others handle items on the trays. Behind them, a larger crowd of devotees in white clothes sits on the floor and in chairs near the back wall, with white curtains and a red curtain in the background. No figure is clearly identifiable as a person from appearance, so no candidate is marked.2013-04-06 +1 copiesA seated group of young shaved-headed boys in saffron and orange robes performs a ritual on a white floor with red mats. Several older shaved-headed priests in orange and saffron garments sit among them, one holding a small brass object and others with ritual items. Forehead bands of white and sandalwood-coloured marks are visible, and many wear rudraksha malas. Brass plates, small bowls, a kalasha-style vessel and oil lamps are arranged in front of them, with a few adults in white clothing seated behind. The setting suggests a puja or ritual observance in a temple hall.2013-08-02
