A seated bald man in saffron-orange robes sits cross-legged on a mat at the front right, facing a small arrangement of white flowers and pink petals on a low table, with a brass vessel nearby. Behind him, a long row of women and children in colourful saris and salwar kameez sit on the ground under a pale wall, with several men in white dhotis and shirts standing or seated in the back row. A green-leaved plant sits at left beside a seated figure in white. The scene suggests a satsang or puja gathering outdoors in a courtyard.2007-09-17September 17 20072007-09-17September 17 20072007-09-17August 26 20072007-08-26 +1 copiesA homa or yagna at an outdoor ritual platform. In the foreground, a shaved-headed man in saffron-orange robes kneels at a brick fire pit stacked with wood, holding a brass bell and a small brass lamp while tending the fire. Around the pit are brass pots, coconuts, bananas, and small bowls of grains, flowers and offerings arranged on a silver tray. Behind him, seated devotees in white clothes and a woman in a teal sari sit with hands folded in prayer. Behind them, a framed photograph of a woman in orange garments, garlanded with orange marigolds and a rudraksha-style mala, stands on a decorated stand, and a yellow-and-orange kalasha sits at the top right. Several children watch from the back.2010-09-11Outdoor group gathering under trees with children and teens seated on mats and cloth in rows. Many children wear white kurta-style clothes, while others wear colourful salwar and shirts. A man in a saffron-orange shawl and white garment sits at the right front, facing the group, near brass vessels, a plate of food and a small brass lamp; a tall bamboo pole with an orange cloth hangs above. Adults in white sit among the children at the back. The setting is a shaded courtyard with trees and a low wall.2006-05-04Outdoor ritual gathering in a village setting with palm trees and thatched huts behind. A shaved-headed monk in a saffron-orange robe bends over a red tray holding a fire with offerings, flowers and small brass vessels, apparently a homa-style fire ritual. Seated devotees on mats in the foreground, including an older man in white with an orange shawl and hands pressed together, and many children sitting in rows behind. Some standing people in white and other colours watch from the back.
