Only the lower legs and knees of a seated person in rust-red robes are visible at the top, with a hand resting on the floor at the right. The vessel appears to hold liquid. No face is visible and no identifiable person can be determined from this framing.2018-04-02 +1 copiesMarch 28 20182018-03-28 +1 copiesA photograph of a shaven-headed man in white dhoti and white shawl with maroon borders sits cross-legged on a pale tiled floor performing puja. He wears a rudraksha mala and is focused on a small brass lamp and a brass vessel on an orange cloth, with a conch shell, incense stick and a brass bell nearby. His hands are held over the lamp's flame. There are no visible ornate robes or long hair, so the figure does not meet the appearance cues for a person and is described as a priest performing puja.2011-07-29April 24 20182018-04-24 +1 copiesMarch 28 20182018-03-28 +1 copiesJuly 25 20172017-07-25 +1 copiesDevotees sit cross-legged on a woven mat for a ritual. In the foreground a man in white dhoti and shawl with a rudraksha mala and a pendant holds a small brass oil lamp in one hand and a brass vessel in the other. Behind him other men in white with forehead markings hold lamps and sit beside plates of flowers and offerings. The man on the right has his palms pressed together in prayer. The scene suggests a puja or aarti with oil lamps and flowers.2010-09-22A photograph of a seated group of men in white dhotis and shawls, with white and red sectarian markings on their foreheads and rudraksha malas around their necks, performing a ritual on a woven mat. In the foreground a bald man in a white dhoti and shawl with a red bindi and a rudraksha mala sits with eyes closed and hands together, while another man beside him holds a small ritual item over brass plates and oil lamps. Behind them, several other men sit in meditative posture, and a metal railing and a crowd of seated people fill the background. Some people wear wristbands and bangles.2010-09-22May 18 20122012-05-18
