January 05 20062006-01-05January 05 20062006-01-05A photograph inside a temple sanctum with grey-white marble walls and floor. A man with long, dark, loose hair and bare shoulders, wearing an orange cloth, reaches toward a small ledge on the wall. Below, a copper pot hangs on a chain above a circular stone basin, dripping water. A small gold deity murti sits in a wall niche decorated with yellow flowers, and a trident and white garland hang on the left wall. A hand of another person appears at the lower right edge.2006-01-05A photograph inside a marble-walled shrine. A long-haired man in an orange saffron wrap sits at left, bare-shouldered, with a trident and white-and-pink beaded mala hanging behind him. A copper pot with a small coin-like emblem hangs on a chain above a black Shivalinga set in a silver-rimmed basin, with water dripping from the pot onto the lingam. A small golden deity murti with flower offerings sits in a wall niche, and a broom leans at the right edge. The man appears to be a Swamiji (probable) based on long swept-back hair and saffron clothing with a rudraksha-style mala, though the appearance is only partly visible.2006-01-04Photo of a person from behind performing abhishekam at a black shivalinga set in a circular basin inside a marble-tiled shrine. The figure has long, dark, wavy hair and bare shoulders, wrapped in orange-saffron cloth, and pours water from a copper pot suspended from a brass chain through a copper spout onto the linga. A second person's hand rests at the lower right of the basin. A small gold deity murti sits in a niche at the top, a silver trident is mounted on the left wall, and a broom leans against the steps at the right. Marigold petals and green leaves rest on the linga.2006-01-04Close photograph of a seated man with long, swept-back dark hair wearing an orange shawl and a long rudraksha mala, bending over a small polished silver vessel held in his cupped hands. A man in white clothing with an orange garment appears behind him, and a wooden surface edges the lower right. The seated figure has a distinctive long-haired appearance with orange drapery and rudraksha beads, which fits the page's reference to Swamiji, so this is a probable match for the Swamiji candidate present in person, though the identification rests on appearance cues only.2008-07-03A photo of a person in an orange saffron garment standing beside a black Shiva lingam set in a circular stone basin inside a marble-walled shrine. The figure has long, loose black hair and a white ash mark on the forehead, and raises one hand toward the wall. A copper pot with a spout hangs on a chain above the lingam, dripping water, and marigold and flower petals lie on the lingam and in the basin. A broom leans in the corner at right. The person is a sannyasi performing abhishekam; the figure's appearance shows long swept-back hair and saffron clothing, a person candidate, but the face is partly turned away, so identity is uncertain.2006-01-04A photograph of a long-haired man in an orange saffron shawl and orange dhoti with a gold border, wearing a heavy gold and black bead necklace (rudraksha-style mala with gold beads). He has a white tilak with a red dot on his forehead, stands with his right hand over his chest, and gazes upward. Behind him is a red velvet chair with an ornate gold-trimmed back and a red flower, beside a framed portrait of a seated man in orange robes. A carved white stone pillar is in the foreground, and a wall sign with printed text hangs on the orange wall.2011-08-19 +3 copiesOctober 01 20062006-10-01A man in an orange saffron garment with a white and multicolored flower garland stands in a stone temple setting, raising one arm and holding a gold ceremonial pendant on orange cords, which he lowers with his other hand. He has long swept-back dark hair and a red bindi on his forehead. Behind him is a weathered granite wall and a colorful floral arrangement of yellow, red and purple blooms. Appearance-based label: a person, in_person, shown in a ritual or temple presentation with a gold pendant and garland.2009-12-26March 03 20112011-03-03 +1 copiesA standing man in an orange and gold-bordered silk garment stands beside a stone-edged altar at an indoor ashram-style setting. He wears a red bindi, long swept-back dark hair, a tiered rudraksha mala across the chest, and rudraksha bracelets on his wrists and upper arm. Beside him, a tall brass oil lamp, brass kalasha-style vessels and a small white seated deity murti stand on the altar. Behind him are a red wall and a whiteboard covered in handwriting.2011-11-15 +1 copies
