In the foreground, a shaven-headed child in orange holds a small object and a brass plate. A man in orange with a rudraksha mala and a tilak sits with hands folded in front of a brass plate of red flowers and a lamp. Behind him, boys in maroon sit cross-legged and a woman in orange clasps her hands in prayer. Several boys wear rudraksha beads and gold-trimmed cloths, and rows of white-clad attendees sit in the background. He holds a rose petal and scatters petals from a pile of red and yellow petals spread on green leaves. Behind him a standing man in rust-red and gold-bordered dhoti and shawl, with a rudraksha mala and a shaved head, holds a sheet of paper and reads. Two more seated figures in orange and red sit to the right, also sprinkling petals beside a dark stone murti at the edge of a red-pillared open pavilion, with palm trees behind.
