A large crowd of devotees stands on red-and-white striped stone steps and in shallow water at a temple tank during a festival. Most wear white dhotis and saris, with several women in orange or saffron garments and a few in red and pink. Some people wade in the water up to their waists while others descend the steps. At lower right, a small decorated float or boat with pink and yellow balloons carries figures in the water. Above the crowd a canopy and a decorated palanquin-like structure appear near the water's edge, and orange and white bunting is strung across the tank area. Trees and a red building stand in the background under a pale sky.

A photograph of a seated figure on an ornate golden throne with red cushions, framed by an arch of white, yellow and red flower garlands, placed in shallow water at the bottom of stone steps. The seated figure wears an orange-saffron garment, a red and white floral garland and an orange shawl. Around the throne, many men stand waist-deep in water: most wear white dhotis and white shirts with yellow sacred threads, several bare-chested, some in saffron or orange robes, and a few in purple or red. Many have shaved heads. Flower-decked idols and additional garlanded figures stand to the left, and a few onlookers watch from the steps and banks. The scene appears to be a ritual procession or bathing ceremony in water.

A large crowd of devotees stands waist-deep in a pool of water, many in white wet clothes. At the centre, a bearded man in a red garment holds up a long red cloth stretched between his hands, with a red-clad figure beside him and a lit torch or flame raised nearby. Surrounding people wear white, red and yellow garments, with some raising hands and smiling. Red and white striped steps line the pool's edge in the background.

A photograph of a large crowd standing waist-deep in water, many in white clothes and some with red or orange shawls and sashes. At the centre a man with long dark curly hair wears a red garment and a white flower garland on his shoulders, smiling as people gather around him. Others nearby wear white kurtas, rudraksha-style necklaces and red sashes, and a man at right wears a red shawl over white clothing. The water is bright and rippling, and the crowd is packed closely together.

A man with long, windswept dark hair stands waist-deep in the shallow water at the edge of a stone ghat, wearing a flowing orange saffron cloth wrapped over his shoulder and body. Behind him, a crowd of devotees stands on the concrete steps and in the river: several men wear white dhotis, a woman in a white sari bends toward the water, and others wear pink, teal and red garments. The sky is bright and pale blue.

A large crowd stands waist-deep in a lit water tank at night, many with arms raised. At centre, a man in an orange-red dhoti and a long orange garland stands in the water, flanked by a man in a red-orange robe and gold necklace on the left and another man in white with a yellow shawl on the right. Around them, many devotees wear white robes with yellow shawls and orange-brown sashes, while others wear white or colourful clothes. A tiered red and white border and a decorated yellow-and-white garland arch hang above the water. This is a photograph of a crowd, with a few people visible in the centre distinctively adorned.

A photograph of men bathing in a churning, white-frothed river. Many men are splashing and wading waist-deep, some with bare chests and dark swim shorts, one man in a white vest, another in a green shirt, and one in a dark tee on the left holding a chain or rope. A man in the foreground at lower right, bare-shouldered, looks toward the left and laughs. Water sprays up around them. A woman in a blue top appears at the left edge. No a person candidate is clearly identifiable from appearance, and no ritual setting is visible beyond the river bathing.
