A bare-chested priest in white dhoti with a yellow-and-green shawl and red sash holds a brass tray with a lit flame at right. Beside the lamp stand a seated lantern and garlands of marigolds and roses. At left, a figure with long swept-back hair and an orange-saffron robe with gold necklaces stands with palms pressed together in namaskar, with other saffron-robed and white-clad devotees behind. In the foreground, gleaming brass oil lamps (deepa stands) and a brass plate of offerings sit on a golden cloth beside a small silver-and-gold murti set on a golden platform with carved lion figures. A woman in a green top kneels at the front making an offering from a tray. Behind the crowd are carved stone pillars, a red curtain, palm trees, and another golden deity murti in the distance. The scene suggests a puja and satsang gathering at a temple.2017-02-10December 17 20072007-12-17Night photograph inside a temple hall with grey granite pillars and red cloth hangings above. A brass lamp stands on the floor at right beside a figure in white dress. Behind the group, a crowd of onlookers stands under hanging banners. The scene suggests an aarti or puja with fire offerings.2006-12-30Photograph of a crowded temple interior where worshippers stand in rows with their backs to the camera, facing a lit shrine. Foreground devotees include a bare-shouldered man with a shaved head and a woman with a tall topknot and gold earrings wearing orange-red cloth. A woman in the centre has hair braided with a pink flower garland and wears a red garment. Several oil lamps glow on the dark shrine ahead, and a steel offering tray sits in the lower foreground. Blue walls and a wooden eave frame the scene. No clearly identifiable a person is visible among the people shown.2018-05-08May 18 20122012-05-18
