August 31 20172017-08-31A group of young male sannyasis in saffron-orange dhotis and matching orange head cloths stand on a stone-paved courtyard beside a red wall and green trees. Several have bare chests marked with white ash stripes and wear rudraksha malas and beaded bracelets; one has long dreadlocks and another wears a long plaited braid. A young girl in a white dress with a gold border stands among them. An ornate red-and-gold canopy with tasselled fringe hangs at the top left, and a person in the foreground right adjusts an orange head cloth. The scene suggests a ceremonial gathering or procession.2017-08-31 +1 copiesJanuary 11 20172017-01-11December 30 20072007-12-30A group of young boys in saffron-orange robes and orange turbans stand in a row with palms pressed together in namaste, some with eyes closed in prayer. They wear rudraksha malas and white sacred ash markings on their foreheads and arms. Behind them, a garland of marigolds and roses sits on a red-pillared stand, and more saffron-clad figures are visible in an open pavilion.2017-09-02A festival procession moves along a dusty road lined with devotees in saffron-orange cloths and rudraksha malas, many with white vibhuti on their foreheads. Two large purple-and-gold canopies with fringed edges shade the procession. A young shirtless man in the centre carries a brass ceremonial object with a garland and rudraksha necklaces. To the left, a woman in a red turban and pink sari wears a long pink-and-white flower garland, and a bald man in orange stands nearby. Other people in orange, yellow and pink saris crowd the scene, many with vibhuti marks, consistent with a Shaivite procession such as Arudhra Darshan.2017-01-12January 12 20172017-01-12January 12 20172017-01-12January 25 20172017-01-25August 15 20172017-08-15 +1 copiesJanuary 13 20172017-01-13A photograph of a procession on a tree-lined path with a red earthen embankment on the right. Many people in saffron-orange robes walk in a long line, most of them women and girls with hair in braids or loose. In the foreground a woman in orange sari with a rudraksha mala and a forehead tilak holds a pink and red ornate umbrella with fringed beads, and a yellow fringed umbrella is held beside her. Several more decorated umbrellas are visible further back. Hanging lanterns hang from poles along the right side of the road.2017-01-07
