He holds a thin white thread over the head of a bare-chested devotee kneeling before him with hands joined, the devotee wearing a yellow marigold garland and white ash markings. A central figure in saffron-orange robes with long dark swept-back hair, rudraksha-bead malas and gold necklace, and a white-and-red flower garland, reaches up to tie or adjust orange sacred cords hanging from a carved stone temple pillar draped with yellow marigold garlands. Two shaved-headed attendants in orange robes stand beside him; one holds a brass tray with a green leaf and flowers, the other a wicker basket of white and orange cloth and marigolds.
