The man at centre wears an orange dhoti and shawl, a rudraksha mala, and a white tilak on his forehead, with a light-coloured cloth over one shoulder. Figures on either side wear maroon robes with gold borders, gold-trimmed shawls and garlands, and white vibhuti marks on their foreheads. Several other men in orange and white garments stand behind them, one bare-chested with a white dhoti. Stone pillars frame the entrance.2015-09-16A photograph taken at a doorway of a temple-like building with yellow walls, a red-framed picture above, and a hanging brass bell. A man with long dark hair swept back, wearing a red-and-gold cloth with gold necklaces, stands in profile with palms pressed together in greeting. Beside him, a shaved-headed man in orange robes with a shawl stands near a wooden lattice door, his head slightly bowed. A partially visible person in white stands at the left edge and another blurred head appears in the foreground. a person cues: long swept-back hair, gold necklaces and red-gold clothing, with a role as the figure greeting with folded hands. Inside, a dim room with red and framed images is visible.2014-03-14A photograph of saffron-clad sannyasis outside a yellow-washed building in Varanasi. In the centre, a man in a deep red turban with a red-and-white tilak wears a marigold garland with white flower strands and a rudraksha mala; he wears a red and orange dhoti-style wrap. Beside him, a bald man in red-and-gold robes with wire-framed glasses and a rudraksha mala walks alongside. Behind them, saffron-robed men stand on concrete steps, one blowing a conch shell and another holding a brass vessel. A barred brown metal window sits in the wall. Appearance-based cues are not distinctive enough to name a person, so the central turbaned figure is described by role only.2015-10-03Inside a room with beige marble-patterned walls and fluorescent tube lights, a shaved-headed elderly man with white tripundra marks on his forehead and body wears a saffron-orange shawl over red-orange dhoti, a long rudraksha mala and a gold pendant necklace, standing beside a gold-carved throne with an orange cloth draped over a table. Beside him, a younger man with a flower crown, gold necklace and gold bangles stands with palms joined in namaste, smiling, in red-orange garments. Behind them a man in a white dhoti and white shirt stands, and an older man in white with folded hands stands at right near a microphone stand. The scene shows a pada puja style reverence setting; the seated throne suggests a ceremonial gathering. The clothing colours are saffron and orange with gold accents, and the setting is an indoor hall.2012-05-02Indoor photograph in an office or hall with brown curtains, a desk with a computer monitor, and a doorway opening to a room with a pink wall and a seated woman in brown robes.
