Night photograph of a large stone temple gopuram tower lit from below, with a glowing neon sign reading Shiva Shiva on its upper section. In front, a smaller stone shrine pavilion with carved sculptures on its roof and columns stands at the entrance, where three or four devotees in white, grey and dark clothing stand near the doorway. A flowering oleander bush with pink blooms sits at the left edge, and power lines cross the dark sky above.

A night view of a South Indian temple courtyard with a stone pillared hall (mandapam) on the right, its roof lined with white bull (nandi) sculptures and a tall gopuram tower rising in the background under a dark sky. Several people walk across the paved courtyard: a woman in a pink sari and a man in a white shirt near the centre, a woman in a blue sari at left, and a man in white dhoti near the centre-right. A thatched bamboo canopy stands at left beside a small shrine with a lit entrance. Carved columns with sculpted figures line the hall, and a cable and a small lamp hang overhead.

Night photograph of a crowded temple gateway lit by strings of oil lamps along a carved stone gopuram tower. A dense crowd of devotees fills a narrow passage: men in white shirts and dhotis, women in colourful saris (pink, orange, blue), a man in a teal green shirt and a man in saffron-orange garments with a rudraksha-style garland. Metal railings and a wooden ladder line the walkway, and a street lamp glows overhead.

Night photograph of a temple entrance hall with stone pillars and a raised stone platform. A neon sign with red and yellow lettering glows on the tower above, and a fluorescent tube light is visible. Stone carvings of animals, possibly a bull, sit on the upper ledge. Inside the lit hall a few small figures are visible near a railing and wall niche, with hanging garlands or strings on the left. Steps lead up to the entrance. Most of the frame is in darkness.

Night photograph of a towering, heavily carved stone gopuram (temple gateway tower) rising above a temple complex. Its tiers are covered with rows of sculpted deities and figures, and small white bull (nandi) figures sit on the rooftops in front. A pillared open hall with dim lamps stands to the left, a pink-washed wall and green metal shutters sit to the right, and a tall street lamp stands in the foreground. Two or three small figures in light clothing are at the lower left, partly visible. Yellow barriers are at the base of the gateway.

Night-time outdoor scene in front of a stone temple wall with a tiered gopuram covered in painted deity sculptures, lit by a bright lamp. A large crowd of devotees sits and stands on a paved courtyard; many men wear white shirts and dhotis, women wear saris in red, blue and green. On the right, on temple steps, a figure in saffron-orange robes with a rudraksha mala sits on a cloth, and a second person in orange sits nearby, while devotees face them. Bamboo scaffolding and a yellow railing line the left side.

A night photograph of a whitewashed temple entrance with a tiered gopuram-style tower rising above, lit by warm lamps and a red light at its top. A small niche above the doorway holds a sculpted deity murti. Strings of orange and white festoon hang across the doorway. Two people in light clothing, one in a pale sari, walk up the steps toward the lit inner sanctum. Dense dark trees frame the scene on both sides.

Night view of the Arunachaleshwara temple gopuram in Tiruvannamalai, its tiered tower whitewashed and lit with rows of small lamps along the edges and window openings. Strings of coloured lights trail down the right side. Dark stone gateway and walls below, with a few people visible at the base near barricades and a small figure in the upper window opening. No identifiable a person is visible in this frame.
