Behind him hangs a painted temple backdrop with garlands in purple, yellow and white at the edges. In the foreground, three devotees in white garments with gold borders sit on the floor facing him, holding small oil lamps and offering plates, one bare-chested priest with white sandalwood marks on his arms. This appears to be a puja or aarti at a throne-seat ceremony.2011-02-12A man with long dark hair, white tilak marks and a red bindi sits eyes closed on an ornate gold throne carved with scrollwork and lion-head armrests, in front of a painted temple backdrop. He wears white cloth draped over his body, a red cord and rudraksha mala necklaces, and gold armlets. In the foreground, a bald priest with bare shoulders and white ritual cloth holds a lit oil lamp, and a woman in white with a gold-bordered sari and long hair holds a lit lamp. Another woman in white sits to the right with a lamp, and a silver tray with flowers and lamps sits at the base of the throne. A hanging garland of flowers appears at the right edge.2011-02-12February 14 20112011-02-14A seated man on an ornate gold throne with red cushions, wearing a white dhoti and white shawl draped over one shoulder, with a long rudraksha mala and a gold pendant necklace, white vibhuti marks on his forehead, and hands folded in his lap. Orange and maroon draped cloth hangs from the sides of the throne. Three people sit cross-legged in the foreground facing him: one in a white dhoti with a gold border, and two girls, one in pink. Brass items, a flower arrangement and a small floral offering sit nearby. The man has long swept-back hair and rudraksha beads, consistent with the Swamiji (probable) label for this discourse setting.2011-02-18May 17 20112011-05-17February 18 20112011-02-18December 21 20102010-12-21 +1 copiesA man with long dark hair, wearing a white dhoti and white shawl, a rudraksha mala and a gold necklace, sits on an ornate gold throne with lion-head armrests, hands raised in a gesture of teaching. Seated at the foot of the throne are five people in white ritual clothing: a shaved-headed priest holding a small lamp or offering, and women in white saris with gold borders and one in a red shawl. Orange draped fabric hangs above, with flower garlands at the top corners. Behind the throne is a painted backdrop of temple architecture, and brass oil lamps stand on either side.2011-02-12A seated figure on an ornate gold throne with a large gilded backrest and carved lion-headed armrests, centred before a temple-style backdrop with pillars and deity images. The central figure wears a flowing yellow robe and a rudraksha mala, with long dark hair, and raises both hands in a blessing gesture. Brass oil lamps stand on either side of the throne. Around the base, several devotees kneel and sit in white and red-bordered clothing, one shaved-headed man in a white dhoti offering flowers and a tray. The scene reads as a padapuja-style veneration of the seated teacher.2011-02-09July 03 20122012-07-03
