A large banyan tree with dense, tangled aerial roots and thick hanging prop roots forming a natural hollow at its base. Sunlight filters through the leaves onto sandy ground. A small dark cave-like opening sits between the roots. At the far left, a seated figure in orange clothing is visible near a low stone platform, and a standing person in white clothing appears at the far right edge, partially hidden by roots.

A large banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots dominates the scene, its trunks rising from a circular raised earthen platform. Several men stand near the base; a man in a white shirt walks past the foreground at right, while a group in white shirts, dhotis and a dark-shirted man stand together at left near a red-covered offering on a mat. The setting is outdoors in a shaded grove with a metal pole and cables. No one present is identified as a person.

A photograph of devotees gathered at a large banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots, in a sunlit outdoor compound with a dirt ground. Several adults stand on black granite slabs before the trunk: a man in a white shirt and dark trousers, a woman in a light blue and white sari, a woman in a white salwar-style outfit, and a woman in an orange sari. Two young children stand in the foreground. A man in white clothes stands at the trunk, and a white-robed figure stands near the cave-like opening at the base of the tree. A blue sign reads DO NOT ENTER THE CAVE. Flower petals are scattered on the ground at the lower right. Visible people: about nine.

A photograph of a large ancient banyan tree with dense hanging aerial roots and thick trunks forming a shrine-like hollow at its base, with a small raised stone platform and a dark recessed niche beneath. In the left foreground a woman with long dark wavy hair wears a flowing saffron-orange garment and presses her body against the tree trunk with her arms wrapped around it, while a man in white clothing stands in the background at the left edge. Dry leaves cover the sandy ground.

A photograph of a large banyan tree with sprawling aerial roots and thick hanging prop roots, under which a group of devotees stands and sits on bare reddish earth in dappled shade. Most men wear white dhotis and white shirts, and women wear white saris with gold borders. A man at the centre-left in white with a long-sleeved shirt stands with hands folded in front of the tree. On the right, a bald man in white kurta and dhoti, with a small necklace, stands with hands clasped near the trunk. Two women in white saris with gold borders stand together on the right. Several people sit on the ground in the foreground and background. No festival objects or rituals are clearly visible beyond the devotional gathering around the tree.

Four women in saris stand at the base of a large banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots, pressing their palms together in prayer and leaning close to the trunk. Two wear white saris, one wears a white sari with an orange border and blue dots, and the fourth on the right wears a pink sari. The ground is dry dirt and the late light falls across the bark.

Devotees in white dhotis, shirts and saris work at the base of a large banyan tree with dense hanging aerial roots, at what appears to be an outdoor kara seva. A man in a white shirt and white dhoti stands at the centre, bending near the roots, while a woman in a white sari to the left smiles and carries a shallow metal tray. Other people in white clothing stand and move among the trunks. The ground is reddish-brown earth piled around a low grey concrete wall encircling the tree, with more trays and loose soil on the path. No saffron-clad figure is visible.
