April 07 20192019-04-07A photograph of a temple interior where a bare-backed sannyasi with long matted hair and an orange cloth and beaded necklace holds a brass tray of red flowers and a small oil lamp toward an elderly man in a white shirt with palms pressed together in namaskar. Beside him stand a man in a white kurta with a red garland and rudraksha mala, a man in a checked shirt, and a man in white with a sandalwood mark and dark beaded necklace.2019-04-07A photograph inside a gold-decorated temple hall. In the foreground, an elderly man with white hair and a white shirt holds his hand over a brass tray of red flowers and offering items. Facing him is a bearded man with long hair tied up on top of his head, bare-chested, wearing a rust-brown dhoti and wrap, a rudraksha mala and beaded bands on his arms, a white tilak on his forehead, holding the tray. Behind them, a man in a pink shirt and white dhoti stands with hands folded, and figures in saffron turbans stand near a drum. Gold pillars and a gold throne frame the scene.2019-04-07April 07 20192019-04-07April 07 20192019-04-07Indoor event photo in a hall with colourful striped pillar banners and white ceiling canopy. A young person with long dark hair and a red bindi wears a red-orange garment with a red-and-gold border and a long gold-beaded necklace; they hold open a yellow and red printed booklet while looking down. An older man with white hair in a white kurta and white shawl stands before them holding a red-covered booklet and a yellow leaflet. Other white-clad men with shaved heads and a bearded elder stand nearby; a man in a dark striped shirt presses his palms together at left. The printed page caption refers to a pada pooja and satsang procession, but the figures visible here are standing devotees rather than a clearly identifiable ritual.2010-11-20A photograph of a line of devotees receiving blessings in an indoor hall with a decorated altar and floral garland backdrop. A figure in an ochre-orange robe with a tan turban and red-brown rudraksha beads is placing a hand on the head of a man in a white kurta with grey hair and white beard, who has his palms pressed together. Beside them, saffron-robed attendants and a white-clad priest stand; one holds a silver tray with a red box. Devotees around them wear yellow T-shirts, white shirts, a red shirt and a green shirt, with palms joined. Approximately seven people are visible.2011-12-15 +1 copiesA photograph of a ceremonial exchange under a white canopy hung with colourful striped pillars. A man with long dark hair, a red tilak mark on his forehead, a red saffron-coloured shawl and a heavy gold-beaded necklace accepts a folded paper from an elderly white-haired man in a white kurta and shawl, who bends forward and offers it with both hands. A man in a dark striped shirt stands at left with palms pressed together in namaste. Other men in white dhotis and an orange-robed attendant stand nearby, and a tray of food offerings sits in the foreground. The attendant on the far right wears orange robes. The man with long hair has appearance cues of distinctive long hair, a red shawl and gold ceremonial necklace, which fit the Swamiji (probable) label; he is receiving a petition in a role of honour.2010-11-20April 07 20192019-04-07Indoor temple scene under a tin roof, with a red carpet runner and a golden deity image in the background. A figure with long swept-back dark hair wears an orange-saffron shawl over a white and orange garland of jasmine and red flowers, and holds a small white object in cupped hands while looking down. Probable Swamiji (long swept-back hair, saffron shawl and floral garland) is the central figure, apparently receiving or presenting an offering. To the left, two older men in white shirts stand at a railing, one with hands pressed to his chest. On the right, a bald priest with vibhuti on his forehead, orange-brown beaded neckwear and bare shoulders watches. A further priest with white forehead marks stands behind him.2013-06-06 +1 copiesA photograph of a ritual scene indoors with a red carpet and light walls. In the foreground an elderly bare-chested man with white hair and a white beard, wearing a white dhoti with a gold border and a gold chain, bends forward and holds out his cupped hands toward a bearded man in an orange-saffron garment with a rudraksha mala. A younger man in a white kurta with a rudraksha mala stands beside him holding a small round object. Behind them a standing man with a shaved head and a red tilak wears white, and several other people in white, saffron and pale shirts stand in a crowd. A man on the left wears a white dhoti with a gold border and a rudraksha mala.2016-11-16April 07 20192019-04-07
