Many men wear white dhotis and shirts, while others wear saffron-orange robes and shawls; some women wear saris in green, blue and pink. Some carry small brass pots and objects, and a man in front wears yellow. A decorated ceremonial cart or palanquin with colourful umbrellas moves at the head of the line, and a yellow ceremonial umbrella is held at right. Some people walk with hands folded in prayer. This appears to be a devotional procession.2013-12-27Photograph of a courtyard gurukul session in a red-walled temple space with pillars, hanging brass bells and lamps. Dozens of young students in orange and saffron clothing sit in rows on the floor facing right. In front of them a large brass tray holds white flower petals with a red floral offering. On the right, a seated teacher in an orange robe and dark head covering sits on a raised platform beside a low wooden stand, and a bald attendant in orange sits near him writing on paper. Potted plants and a tree fill the background.2016-01-11July 19 20162016-07-19A large group of seated devotees, mostly young women and girls, fills the frame outdoors on a paved ground. Many wear saffron-orange clothing and rudraksha malas, while some wear white and cream garments with gold borders. Several have vibhuti or tilak marks on their foreheads. Brass vessels, small pots and oil lamps sit on cloth mats in front of them, and some hold small items during a ritual gathering. The photo appears to document a ceremonial sitting, possibly the Poonal ceremony described on the page, though no a person figure is visible.2016-08-18A photograph of a seated group of devotees at a ritual meal offering. Front row, several women in rust-red and orange saris with gold borders sit cross-legged with palms pressed together in namaskar, eyes closed; some wear rudraksha malas and white tilak marks on their foreheads. Before them lie banana leaves holding bananas, fruits, rice and small cups, with water bottles nearby. Behind them, rows of people in white and orange clothing sit in a hall with gold-toned decor, some with hands folded. Visible ritual setting suggests an annadan or puja offering.2016-09-30A photograph of a padapuja ritual in an indoor hall with yellow window blinds and a ceiling fan. A seated figure in an orange robe and a red-and-white flower garland sits on an ornate gilded throne at the upper right, hands pressed together in namaste. Before the throne, an elderly bald man in white kneels beside a low gilded stand heaped with white and red flower garlands, and a younger devotee in white with a yellow shawl kneels nearby. Devotees in white dhotis and saris with yellow shawls and saffron stoles sit on red patterned rugs, many with palms joined. In the foreground, a white cloth holds brass and steel bowls of fruit, sweets, rice and an oil lamp, and a tray of yellow flowers sits on the lower right. A framed photograph hangs on the wall behind the seated group.May 24 20182018-05-24 +1 copiesDecember 20 20112011-12-20
