Each wears rudraksha malas and white and red forehead markings. Several play barrel-shaped drums slung from white straps, one drummer strikes a small hand cymbal, and the man at right stands with his hands folded near his mouth. Dry leaves lie on the ground and a stone pile sits behind the wall.2014-08-31Shirtless young male drummers in white dhotis with gold borders play large barrel drums, some with blue sashes across their chests and rudraksha-style beaded necklaces, on an open sandy ground. Behind them a large crowd stands and sits, many wearing red headscarves and white clothes. A red mat lies on the left and green trees and a red brick wall form the backdrop.2017-12-16June 30 20182018-06-30A group of young male drummers in saffron-orange robes perform on a red mat on a white tiled floor. The seated drummer in front wears a white dhoti, a multi-strand rudraksha-style mala and a gold necklace, and has white tilak marks on his forehead while he plays a small drum. Beside him a drummer in orange plays a large patterned drum with a tiger-striped skin, and another drummer behind plays a large metal drum. Other musicians in orange, with wooden-bead malas, sit or stand in the background near a wooden door. Drumsticks, a small white-rimmed drum and cloth bundles are on the floor.2017-08-08Outdoors on a sandy courtyard, a young boy in saffron-orange dhoti and white shoulder cloth carries a large red-and-natural-skin barrel drum slung at his side and plays it with a stick. Beside him, a boy with a white headband and rudraksha mala beads in orange clothing walks behind, and two boys in maroon dhotis with yellow borders move in the background. A red pillar, white-and-red steps, and green plants frame the scene, with a yellow plastic bag on the ground.2013-05-14 +1 copies
