Night photograph of a devotional gathering on a paved outdoor ground strewn with yellow flower petals. In the foreground a row of people in plain white ritual dress stands with palms pressed together in namaskar. A man on the left wears a white dhoti, a rudraksha-style mala and a bead necklace; a younger man in the centre wears a white shirt and a red shawl with a yellow garland. A woman in a white sari holds a small child. Behind them, a large crowd sits in white clothing, and a tall golden kalasha-like pole stands in the dark background.

Night photograph of a large walking procession on a paved road in Tiruvannamalai, lit by street lamps and vehicle headlights. Many devotees wear white dhotis and white kurtas with saffron-orange shawls draped over their shoulders, and some men wear orange garments. Near the centre, a figure in an orange robe walks barefoot at the front of the group, while others in white and orange move behind. A utility pole and a blank roadside billboard stand at right beside leafy trees. Many people are visible, with the group extending into the distance.

Night photograph of a line of devotees descending stone steps beside a dark tank or pool, with a lit lamp-lined structure at upper left. Women in white saris with orange and yellow borders and men in white dhotis and orange or saffron shawls walk in a row, several with hands folded. A devotee in an orange garment and a white-clad figure near the right edge carry or hold items. Small oil lamps and a few artificial lights illuminate the scene. The setting suggests a Karthikai Deepam observance, though no lamps are clearly lit in a lamp-bearing ritual here.

A wide outdoor photograph of a crowd of devotees in white dhotis and white shirts lining a dusty open ground, with many standing in a long procession-like line. Saffron and orange flags and banana plant stalks stand along the route, and a decorated float or chariot with flower garlands sits at the left. Low buildings, trees and a hazy sky form the background. No individual in the scene is clearly identifiable as the a person.

Night-time photograph of a group walking across a sandy site among scattered grey stone slabs, with a dark sky and a few lights in the background. A figure in saffron clothing with a long wooden staff and a multi-strand orange-beaded garland stands centre-right, while a person in white dhoti and orange shawl steps forward on a slab carrying a lit lamp. Other attendants in white dhotis and orange shawls carry brass vessels and a white cloth, and a bent figure in orange lays a hand on a slab. Two small children stand at the right edge. The scene appears to be a ritual procession on a Karthikai Deepam evening, with the lamp as the visible light source.

Outdoor photo on a dusty reddish-brown dirt clearing bordered by dense green trees. A group of about ten people walks in a loose line across the ground. Most wear white garments: white dhotis and white shirts, and several women wear white saris with orange or yellow borders. Several walkers have orange or saffron shawls draped over their shoulders. The figure third from the right in the line wears a full orange robe and has long dark hair, and the person just behind him is in white. On the left, a man in white walks barefoot with his palms pressed together in greeting, and a man in a light shirt and grey trousers stands watching near the trees. At right, a man in white stands near a row of footwear placed on the ground, and a low brick stack sits by the trees.
