Night photograph of a line of devotees descending stone steps beside a dark tank or pool, with a lit lamp-lined structure at upper left. Women in white saris with orange and yellow borders and men in white dhotis and orange or saffron shawls walk in a row, several with hands folded. A devotee in an orange garment and a white-clad figure near the right edge carry or hold items. Small oil lamps and a few artificial lights illuminate the scene. The setting suggests a Karthikai Deepam observance, though no lamps are clearly lit in a lamp-bearing ritual here.
