Portrait photographs of a bearded man in saffron-coloured clothing are mounted on the golden base and the front panels, and a framed portrait stands on a yellow board. In front, a large group of devotees in white dhotis and mostly white shirts and checked shirts sit and stand around a ritual arrangement of brass oil lamps, flower offerings, coconuts and smoke rising from the lamps. A girl in an orange top and green skirt stands at the centre. Women in saffron, red and white saris sit at the right. Devotees walk alongside in saris and white dhotis; women wear orange, green, purple, cream and lavender saris with long braids and flowers in their hair. A bicycle is parked at left, a green-and-white bus waits at right, and a saffron flag flies on the float.2006-11-01A photo of an outdoor procession in a village street with a decorated palanquin or ratha covered in banana stalks and a canopy. The palanquin is heavily garlanded with orange and white flower malas around a deity murti. In the foreground, a bare-headed elderly man in orange-yellow cloth with a yellow shawl stands near the palanquin, with a man in a purple checked shirt and yellow shawl beside him. Around them, a crowd of devotees in white and orange clothes, some women with long braids decorated with flowers, raise hands in worship. A painted yellow banner with peacock motifs hangs behind, and palm trees frame the scene.2018-01-18November 01 20062006-11-01January 18 20182018-01-18Outdoor temple procession scene in a dusty courtyard beside white temple structures with colourful sculpted gopuram. A golden ratha with a canopy carries two deity murti seated on a throne, one dressed in white with a crown and one in red and green with garlands. Two men in white dhoti and shirts kneel or stand near the ratha; a man in white shirt and green lungi stands to the right with hands on hips, and a man in white dhoti with rudraksha-like neck beads is at the front right. A woman in white sari with an orange shawl stands at left among white-clad devotees. In front, a blue tarpaulin holds brass plates of bananas, flowers, fruit, betel leaves, brass vessels, a brick fire pit with straw bundles and a heap of cakes, plus brass lamps. Several framed portraits are attached to the ratha and nearby posts.2006-10-25A photograph of an outdoor procession at a village setting with a thatched-roof building and palm trees. In the foreground, a line of women and men with hands folded in prayer face a vehicle-mounted platform carrying a deity murti (utsava murti) decorated with fresh garlands and flowers, with brass offering trays, lamps and fruit set on an orange cloth. A man in an orange robe and shawl stands at the left of the platform beneath a colourful multi-coloured umbrella with tassels. A man in white clothing stands on top of the vehicle, and a figure in white is seated inside the vehicle's windshield area. Several women wear white and cream saris, one in pink, and a man in a white shirt stands at right with a garland around his neck. Rudraksha-style beaded necklaces are visible on several devotees. The scene suggests a utsava murti procession with aarti and pooja offerings.2009-12-23
