Outdoor night homa at a brick-walled courtyard. A seated man in saffron-orange dhoti and orange turban, bare-chested, wears rudraksha malas and holds a ladle over a silver bowl beside a fire pit built of yellow-painted bricks with a bright flame. Behind him a gold ornate throne with a cobra-hood canopy and a red cushion holds a framed printed portrait of a figure in orange with a turban and garlands, labelled as a portrait with no readable name. Striped woven mats cover the floor, with silver puja vessels, betel leaves, a small brass oil lamp at the right and scattered flower petals.2019-03-17A seated man in an orange turban and saffron-orange cloth performs a fire ritual beside a homa pit built of yellow-painted bricks, with a bright open flame rising at right and a silver bowl of offerings on the brick platform. He wears rudraksha beads and a long necklace, and holds a ladle over the fire. Behind him is a gold-carved throne with a red seat and a crowned portrait labelled as a framed image on the throne back. Silver vessels, green leaves, a brass lamp and a striped mat surround the fire pit in a brick-walled room at night. The man's appearance is orange-clad with turban and beads, but the cues are not enough to identify him, so the presentation is uncertain.2019-03-17March 06 20162016-03-06 +1 copiesMarch 17 20192019-03-17September 03 20162016-09-03 +1 copiesJanuary 01 20132013-01-01May 19 20132013-05-19May 07 20172017-05-07A homa fire ritual at night in an open courtyard. A fire burns in a yellow-edged stone fire pit strewn with yellow flowers. Five young men in saffron-orange robes sit around it. The central one wears an orange turban and a gold necklace, and pours an offering from a ladle into the flames. Another wears a rudraksha mala and holds a ladle; a man in an orange shawl and brown beaded mala speaks into a microphone, and another holds a small silver vessel. Smoke rises above them. White sacred ash marks the foreheads and arms of the men.2013-11-04May 19 20132013-05-19A photograph of a homa fire ritual at night. A bare-chested priest with white sacred marks on his arms and chest, a rust-orange turban and a long rudraksha mala with gold ornaments sits on a silver chair. He holds a long ladle over a fire built on a stack of yellow bricks, decorated with grass and white grains. A brass bowl sits in front of the fire, with brass pots and a plate of flowers on a striped cloth. Behind him stand a stone pillar and a dark red mat. The priest appears to be a devotee-level performer; no identity is asserted from appearance.2018-06-04 +1 copiesOctober 12 20072007-10-12
