A large ornate golden chariot with carved panels and orange and red garlands stands at right beside a small shrine with a blue-tinted roof and a deity murti. Traffic fills the road: motorcycles and a small blue car, a bicycle rickshaw with a green tarpaulin, and pedestrians including a woman in a blue sari and men in white shirts and dhotis. A large tree shades the street and yellow multi-storey buildings line the left side. No identifiable a person figure is visible.2006-11-05November 05 20062006-11-05June 19 20142014-06-19 +1 copiesFebruary 05 20092009-02-05A street procession in Chennai with a gilded wooden ratha (chariot) decorated with orange and white flower garlands and golden drapery, carrying deity figures. Devotees crowd the roadside: a man in a blue shirt holds a mobile phone, women wear sarees in pink, red and orange with jasmine garlands in their hair, and men in white dhotis and shirts walk nearby. Parked trucks, shuttered shop fronts and banana plants line the street.January 20 20092009-01-20
