October 09 20062006-10-09Two metal deity murtis of a divine couple stand side by side in a dimly lit temple procession, heavily decorated with long garlands of white, yellow and magenta flowers draped across their bodies and shoulders. Both figures wear ornate silver necklaces and crowns, and the left murti holds a flower. Behind them, part of a carved stone pillar is visible, and at the right edge a man in white ritual clothing stands partially visible, with other partially visible figures at the left edge.2006-10-09October 09 20062006-10-09A photograph of two golden metal deity murtis, Nithyanandeshwara and Nithyanandeshwari, decorated with heavy white, yellow and pink flower garlands, standing in a gilded temple shrine. A lit oil lamp flame burns on a stand in the foreground, with a brass bowl and vessels nearby. A priest in white dhoti stands at the left edge beside the shrine columns. The gold-ornamented pillars frame the scene, and a green cloth covers the base of the image. No one is seated on a throne and no a person candidate is clearly visible in this image.2006-10-09Two metal utsava murti figures of deities are shown at night, heavily decorated with garlands of yellow and magenta flowers and white jasmine strands draped over their shoulders and arms. The figure on the left wears a tall headdress and a large ornate necklace, while the figure on the right wears a crown and a layered necklace. A pillar with carved detailing stands at the left edge, and a partially visible person in white dhoti-style clothing stands behind the left figure near the base. The setting suggests a procession deity being prepared for a ratha yatra, shown in a temple or street setting.2006-10-09November 18 20102010-11-18 +2 copiesA night-time street procession photographed from among a dense crowd. At centre, a decorated float or ratha carries a deity murti lit by warm electric lamps, with a red backdrop and a lit oil lamp at the top. Many people in the foreground and midground face the float, some holding phones or cameras. Vehicles flank the procession on both sides, with a bright round light at left. A small boy in a yellow shirt stands at right. Tamil signboards are visible at upper left.November 22 20102010-11-22October 09 20062006-10-09June 05 20122012-06-05 +1 copiesOctober 09 20062006-10-092009-GLIMPSES-OF-VARIOUS-EVENTS +1 copies
