August 04 20172017-08-04A painted relief of Dakshinamurti, the seated teacher form of Shiva, under a blue wall and a banyan tree canopy with red fruits. The central pink figure has four arms, holds a drum and a flame, and wears rudraksha malas and gold necklaces. Four bearded sages in orange dhoti-style cloths sit in front with hands folded in anjali, before a red Kannada inscription reading Sri Dakshinamurti. These are statues and painted figures, not physical people.2010-08-09February 07 20162016-02-07 +2 copiesA seated man in red-orange robes speaks into a microphone on a stage set with green foliage in the foreground. He wears a tall black hairstyle with a small gold crown, a red bindi, rudraksha malas and gold bangles. Behind him a large backdrop painting shows a multi-armed deity seated in meditation, holding a damaru-like drum and a flame, with bead necklaces and a crescent moon above. Bearded sages in saffron stand on either side of the backdrop, and a temple tower appears at the right edge. Swamiji (probable): the seated speaker wears a crown, rudraksha malas and saffron-red clothing and is presenting a session, so the identity is an appearance-based label.2016-02-07December 22 20182018-12-22A framed printed picture of a deity pair hangs on a pale wall. A bare-chested male figure with a trident and crescent moon stands on the left, holding a bowl, while a seated female figure in a red and gold dress and crown holds a bowl on a pedestal. Attendants with a parasol are behind them. Below the frame is a yellow sign with Tamil text. No people are physically present in the scene.2008-07-29A seated man in a saffron-red robe with a rudraksha mala and gold necklace sits on a raised stage with a microphone, hands folded at his chest, speaking to an audience. Behind him a large backdrop painting shows a multi-armed deity murti seated in meditation with a crescent moon and third-eye tilak on the forehead, holding a trident and other objects, beside a painted temple tower and green foliage. Two painted attendant figures in saffron flank the stage. The man is visibly a candidate by his appearance, with a tall swept-up hairstyle, rudraksha malas and saffron robes, but the identity is uncertain so the description uses a role.2016-02-07May 30 20122012-05-30February 04 20162016-02-04 +1 copiesFebruary 07 20162016-02-07A photograph of a stage set with a large backdrop showing a seated multi-armed deity in red and white tones, flanked by stylised trees, flowers and mountains. A single man sits centred on an ornate golden throne with leopard-print cushions. He wears an orange turban, rudraksha-style beaded necklaces and a saffron-orange garment, with a staff leaning on the left side of the throne. Blue spotlight beams fall from above.2017-08-04August 04 20172017-08-04
