Many pilgrims and sadhus walk in both directions, several in saffron or orange robes and one in white dhoti and shawl carrying a steel pot. A small boy in grey eats a snack in the foreground, and a stall to the right sells balloons and colourful items. Some banners bear Hindi text.2013-02-05February 07 20132013-02-07Dusty unpaved road lined with parked white and silver vans and cars, with a crowd of pedestrians walking toward the camera. A man in front wears an orange shawl and saffron robe, another wears a red scarf and striped sweater, and others carry white plastic bags. In the centre, a decorated red-and-yellow vehicle with a sun motif carries a seated figure dressed in white beside a painted panel, while blue-and-red Indian-style gateway structures and a tall temple spire stand in the hazy background.2013-02-05A busy roadside scene during a festival crowd on a tree-lined street, with many people walking along both sides of the road in white dhotis and shirts, saris and salwar kameez. A large red roadside banner on a bamboo scaffold shows a smiling figure wearing an orange-saffron head wrap and orange robe with a red tilak; the banner carries Tamil text. A red fire-engine-style vehicle and blue-roofed buses stand on the right, and a stall with a painted banner sits at the left edge.2010-12-29February 07 20132013-02-07Outdoor photograph of a wide road bridge at Kumbh Mela in Allahabad, with an orange metal railing on the right and crowds of pilgrims walking along the pavement. In the foreground, three men walk along the road: one in a red t-shirt and dark trousers, another in a light blue shirt with dark trousers, and a third in a dark jacket. On the right, a woman in a dark shawl and white skirt carries a bundle. Behind the railing, many people with bundles and luggage move through the crowd. Several tall poles carry large colourful hoardings showing a bearded, saffron-clad figure with long hair, labelled in Hindi, one with a Rupa logo. Hazy sky and trees in the distance.2013-02-10A roadside scene on a dusty street lined with palm trees, where a large printed banner stands on the left. The banner shows a smiling man with long hair in an orange-saffron head wrap and orange robe, beside deity images at the top and Kannada text below. A uniformed police officer in khaki walks past the banner while a small group of men in white and dark clothes stand near parked cars, a motorbike and a white van. Concrete structures and a water tank sit in the background.2013-11-11February 07 20132013-02-07January 10 20092009-01-10Photo taken through a vehicle window of a dusty street with a large orange-and-red hoarding displaying a Kannada-language banner and two portrait photographs of smiling men in orange clothing and orange head wraps. The portraits are printed on the hoarding, not physical people. An orange saffron flag flies from a pole beside it, and a tree stands behind. On the street a teal three-wheeled auto-rickshaw is parked, with a white truck and a few pedestrians nearby, and there is a two-storey building with balconies on the right. The printed portrait on the left appears to show a man in orange with a sash, but identity is uncertain from appearance.2011-05-24
