A photograph of an aarti being offered on a raised red-and-gold throne platform. A long-haired man in saffron-orange robes, rudraksha-style necklaces and gold armbands sits on a red throne with a gold crown-like backrest and lion-shaped armrests, smiling with raised hands. In the foreground a bald, shaved-headed priest in orange robes holds a lit lamp (aarti) toward him. Gold oil lamps with rooster-topped finials flank the throne against a painted cosmic backdrop of red and orange clouds and stars. A small offering tray and cushioned platform sit at the front. The seated man's identity is uncertain from appearance alone; the page lists a person at this event, so he is a probable match with the distinctive long hair, saffron robes and ornate necklaces on a throne, but the face is not the basis for this label.2012-09-29A seated man in saffron-orange robes sits on an ornate red and gold throne with carved golden lion-head armrests, raising his right hand in a blessing gesture.
