Two saffron-robed sannyasis stand at the pole: one in a saffron dhoti with an orange shawl and a beaded necklace, the other bare-chested with a red-orange shawl and gold-coloured bangles, both pulling orange cords or ropes tied to the pole. Tall coconut palms and green foliage fill the background, with a few onlookers visible behind them.2011-07-15Outdoor dwajarohanam flag-hoisting scene at dusk beside a tall copper-toned ritual flagstaff wrapped in orange cloth and rope, with a carved figure panel, yellow marigold garlands and a pink-and-white flower base. A long-haired man in orange-red robes wrapped in a red-and-gold-trimmed garland of red and yellow flowers stretches up to the top of the pole with both arms, while a bald man with bare chest and orange shawl beside him holds a silver tray of flowers. The priest on the left, in a red-brown robe, holds a purple cloth bunched near the pole's base, while the priest in the middle, with a red garland draped on her shoulder, reaches up toward the pole. A third man at right wears a rudraksha mala, stands with hands near his waist and looks on. Several people in white stand at the far left edge, their hands pressed together in reverence. The scene reflects a flag hoisting ritual before a festival.2015-04-21April 21 20152015-04-21Outdoor photo at a temple-style setting with palm trees behind. A tall ornate copper kalasha-style pillar with a carved peetha base and a small decorated shrine-like top is wrapped with an orange thread and draped with yellow marigold garlands. A bare-chested priest in a white dhoti with an orange border reaches up to tie the orange thread around the pillar. Beside him stands a person in orange robes with a dark rudraksha mala and a red bindi, hands folded in front, long dark hair. In the foreground a shaved-headed devotee in orange kneels with his back to the camera, hand raised to his face. Stone sculptures and a seated older man in white appear at the left edge.2011-10-07
