Indoor communal kitchen serving food at a steel counter. A man in an orange turban and orange robe, with long swept-back dark hair and a rudraksha mala, wears clear gloves and uses a ladle to serve yellow food onto steel plates held out by people in the line. A steel bucket sits on the counter beside him. A man in a white shirt with a pendant necklace stands behind him, a woman in a white salwar with a long braid holds a plate, and a woman in an orange sari stands at the right edge. Tiled walls, fluorescent lights and a wall-mounted insect trap are visible, with more people in the background.2006-12-16March 17 20132013-03-17 +1 copiesA photo from a community meal hall with a long steel table where seated men in white shirts and dhotis eat from metal plates. A man in a white shirt holds a steel bowl and serves food. Beside him stands a long-haired figure in a saffron-orange robe with an orange turban and a beaded rudraksha-style mala, handing food to a seated diner. Several other men in white and orange stand in the background, and a dim hall with pillars and a distant table of items is visible. Appearance cues are present but not conclusive, so the identity of the robed figure is uncertain.2006-12-15A large indoor hall with cream walls and red floor mats shows a seated audience of women in white, cream, orange, red and purple saris and salwar kameez, many sitting cross-legged on the floor. Several wear glasses; a few hold notebooks, pens or a laptop. A young girl in red sits at the right. Hanging decorative umbrellas in red and yellow decorate the upper hall, and a framed image is visible at the top left. No swami is visible in this frame, so no in-person candidate is identified.2016-08-21Indoor photograph in a hall with ceiling fans, brown walls and barred windows. A man in a long orange robe with an orange turban and a long dark beard sits on a bench at left, facing a woman in a white salwar kameez with a yellow dupatta and a flower in her hair, who gestures as she speaks. Around them stand a man in a white shirt, young women in white and light-blue uniforms, and a young man in orange at the edge. Appearance-based label: a person seated in orange robe and turban with long beard, in conversation with a devotee.2006-12-15December 16 20172017-12-16October 23 20152015-10-23A photo of volunteers serving a meal line in a dim hall, with a large stainless steel pot in the foreground. A young man in a white polo shirt with an orange lanyard holds a paper plate of rice while a serving volunteer ladles food from a steel tray. Behind them, a woman in white with a hairnet and plastic gloves serves, and an older man in white clothes with an orange shawl and white head covering stands at the right. Other servers in white and orange are visible in the background near a golden ornamented panel. The setting suggests an ashram annadan food service.2013-09-04 +1 copiesA seated figure in orange and rust robes with a white flower garland and gold armlets sits on a red and leopard-print cushioned seat, pouring from a terracotta pot into a metal dish held by a kneeling elderly man in white clothing with a brown beaded necklace. Behind them, women in orange and rust saffron robes with rudraksha malas hold a tray of white offerings, and a decorated gold-and-floral deity murti stands on a red carpeted floor beside a blue patterned backdrop with a fan. This appears to be a padapuja-style ritual. The seated figure has long swept-back hair and saffron-orange clothing with ceremonial gold ornaments, a cue combination consistent with the page's Swamiji reference, so the appearance-based label applies.2014-08-17Annadhan in 20152015-01-01 +1 copiesAnnadhan in 20132013-01-01 +1 copiesA seated man in an orange robe with a rudraksha mala and a long swept-back hairstyle sits on an ornate golden throne with a peacock-feather backrest, eyes closed in meditation. Before him, a row of devotees in white, green and red saris and white shirts sit on the floor with brass plates of offerings and a small cup in hand. A priest in white with a shaved head and tilak stands at left near a microphone. Behind the throne stands a deity murti decorated with yellow and purple flower garlands, and a gold kalasha-like vessel and flowers sit on a side table. The setting is a pink-walled hall.2010-10-09
